Insult and Argument Thread

Here is a thread for all of you masters of insults and arguments to come to when you get hot at someone on the other threads. For instance if you are on a cuemaking or shot making thread and someone says something to you that makes you want to start a fight with them, just post a note saying in reply to their comment: See Insult and Argument thread. Then you can go at it here until Mike decides enough is enough and boots you or until one of you concedes. This will allow you to fight all you want and quit ruining all the decent threads that people start on the main forum. Please do us all a favor and use this thread.

Yep.. you said it all about right. There is one poster here that is driving me up a wall. He starts a thread about pool equipment and the answer you give him is never good enough for him. I do not post any negative comments in his threads although I would love too! He is on my ignore list now and I am in bliss! :D

The advice that I have received in the past from many veteran posters on pool-related discussion forums is to ignore an offensive post.

As the saying goes, it takes two to argue. In Internet world, it takes two, or more, to initiate a flame war. If only one party, or unidentified troll in many instances, posts inflammatory comments and receives no response, the fire will die down.

I totally agree with both of you that ignoring it is best, but there are more than just one on here that likes to insult and argue, so let them bring it here instead of ruining perfectly good threads. How about those who started the thread suggest to those who start arguing in a bad way; Take it to the Insult and Argument Thread. That way it doesn't get so far off the subject and totally ruin the thread. By the way I am ignoring the first response above according to your advice. But for those who can't ignore please come here.

Is rsb off the air ?

Gremlin,

Through the past three years, we have disagreed on several issues. During that time, nothing you've posted should have received the kind of crap posted here recently. This is a free country. People can post virtually anything they wish. Anonymity is wonderful. It is not however, an excuse for character assasination. Some of our posters seem to feel they destroy anothers good name in jest. I'm not laughing!

I totally agree with you CK. I saw that thread and couldn't believe what I saw. I think some people get on here and forget that their posts can be read by so many people from all over. To malign someone like they did to Gremlin was way over the line as far as I'm concerned.

I have been shying away more and more from these confrontational threads lately but I just decided it was important to step up and agree with you here. Another thing is, people here sometimes take this board way too seriously, myself included. We all should remember that the written word does not lend itself well to expressing true feelings as well as interpreting those feelings. Two people might get along just fine if they were talking directly to one another and might otherwise be engaged in a flame war on a board like this all because of a misconception of what a string of words really meant by the person typing them. Besides, if you stop posting on here for a while and go about your business in the real world, this board rapidly begins to lose its significance.

Hey Gremie, wish I had a tongue like that (my wife does too :D )

This is a great idea! There are some users here that do nothing BUT thrash good threads. If you have a beef with someone and you don't know how or refuse to use the pm option, then have at it here. Also, for those that don't like all the bickering, I recommend that you stay out of this thread. 1 more thing, I predict that this thread will stay at or near the top of the list for a long time. We can all just go here and vent if we like. Peace, or not, whatever YOU choose.

I'm afraid that I'm unable to participate in a thread such as this one. I simply refuse to argue with people and I'm not the type to insult someone.. imo
PEACE ON EARTH, GOOD WILL TOWARD MEN !!!!!

I hope this works out. I try not to be insulting to anybody, how ever I don't mind a GOOD argument or debate. I'm sure I won't be posting much though because I've found I'm a much more effective arguer if I can get my hands around your throat during the argument. ;) :D

Cueman,

That's a great idea but derekdisco and user69 are liers who defame, slander and insult people they don'r even know. There is no argument about that. I think the best way is to use your ignore list so you don't answer. They take great pleasure in trying to destroy threads which read something nice about people. I have no argument with liers. No use. They caused the WPBA Buelletin Board to close because of there lies and no one cares. Very sad!

I like you want to come here and enjoy myself. I think the ignore feature is much more viable than a name calling thread. LOL But I reserve my judgement to see if it works. Like I have stated I know some of the people who post here personally and they are just as nice on the board as in person.
Note: I am using my aviator to get out the truth, which is one way, of many with no argument.

Ummm, what threads are we trying to destroy??? were just exposing you for who you really are. . . . . .and can someone please explain to me what the word "liers" means? Ive looked it up and cant find anything, im sure if hes going to go out of his way to make an avatar insulting me and user69, you would think he would spell, "LIARS" correctly, geeze grem, quit while youre behind, you cant win!

Uhhh...don't you mean "aviators"? Get it right....

In my three years of posting here, I find this thread the most aptly named of all. You guys are welcome to it.

Main Entry: av·a·tar

Function: noun
Etymology: Sanskrit avatAra descent, from avatarati he descends, from ava- away + tarati he crosses over -- more at UKASE, THROUGH
1 : the incarnation of a Hindu deity (as Vishnu)
2 a : an incarnation in human form b : an embodiment (as of a concept or philosophy) often in a person
3 : a variant phase or version of a continuing basic entity

Main Entry: avi·a·tor
Pronunciation: 'A-vE-"A-t&r, 'a-
Function: noun
: the operator or pilot of an aircraft and especially an airplane

Quite different things DM. Although I still think all the lame Gremiln threads are the height of lameness and smack of 12 year old antics. I think Gremlin has both me and you on Ignore but at least we are both mature enough to stay out of such lame tactics as Derek and Mr 69 would partake in.

But Avatar is indeed the correct word. :p

Oh Celtic, Celtic...I got you on this one. You weren't reading closely enough. Go back and read Gremlin's ORIGINAL post on this thread. I was only quoting the master himself. :p Gotcha!!
