Interesting tenon

Ferrule cracked right down the middle .
When I took the ferrule out, this is what I saw.
It wobbled bad.
It was re-plug job ( shaft was a Helmstetter ).

So what do you do with it now?

Cut the tenon off, drill a new hole, glue in new tenon.

When you replug, do you make the bottom of the bottom of the hole flat ?

I use a 4-flute bottom cutting end-mill after drilling to .295" sized hole.
