International Straight Pool 14.1 Championship - November 23-26, 2024

Is the weather the reason for bad traveling in a car at that time. From Texas to Florida?
Not weather- it will be past hurricane and rainy seasons. However - traveling home after the 26 th by car is right in the middle of Thanksgiving holiday traffic- some have tolerance for that travel - I don’t!

What? 2 of the best shooters Filler and Mr 714 (or 669) Shaw not in this?
Archer is playing but too bad Oscar not playing

Have heard diddly about Chinahov but sure heard lot about diddy :ROFLMAO:

Since this is between the International Open 9-Ball and the Mosconi Cup, I would think all of the MC players would enter both. Maybe they want to rest. Pia could play.

I also hope Ruslan can make it, but it might depend on where he's living now. I see he posted a "reel" on Facebook in August of him making a Z-bank on a pyramid table.

I would think Filler will find his way into the field.
Jayson Shaw also. Jayson will be warming up for the International the days leading up to the event back in Virginia trying to break his 14.1 record at the brand new Legends Of Pocket Billiards location.

This thread makes me think of Chinakov. Anybody heard diddly about this guy? Hope he didn't get killed in that insane war.
I asked Alex about Chinakov…..he hasn’t heard a thing….they are friends.

Ruslan has had a lot of eye problems. I heard his eyes are doing better and he is back to practicing again. He has a lot of talent. It would be so good to see him playing again.

Did u see that link? He's playing and playing well.

I believe this is the guy who came up w/and used to practice w/Gorst. Bob, he can also make Z banks on the pyramid table:

Does it really have to be round robin? I can't help but wonder if it would be more friendly to fans and players if it were double elimination instead of round robin.

It's round robin followed by single elimination, I believe. If you have a favorite player, that means you get to see him play at least four matches.

Nice to see SVB in the straight pool field. When Appleton won his Dragon 14.1 championship, Shane came second and showed some solid ability. On 8/18/2013, he ran 211 in his practice for that event.

Ah, so they are split into groups and only round robin within? That would make more sense I suppose.

And SVB won that same event in 2019, going undefeated (5-0) in the round-robin stage and then, in single elimination, defeating Madenjian, Eberle, Schmidt, and Deuel.

Are you sure? I would have thought that the Dragon 14.1 event no longer existed in 2019 and that Charlie Williams had exited the world of pool about then. Maybe that was the last one of these.
