Eddie,

Obviously true custom fit to each player is going to go out the window if you market nationally and internationally. However this thread hot on the heels of you protesting that letting ten people test one of your cues would guarantee that at least nine out of ten wouldn't like it leaves me scratching my head. Your message isn't consistent to say the least!

Why don't you build one of these generic cues and send it out for testing. Please note that nobody has suggested you send a bunch of cues out for free testing. One cue making the round is plenty. You are talking about making spec cues now so sending one on the road might be a very wise investment. That has worked far better for another cuemaker than just making a bunch of posts that while they may get you attention, it ain't all of the nice kind!

Do note that I am not interested in testing myself so I am not fishing here. Conflict of interest because I dabble with cues myself and as a machinist and former precision gunsmith my expectations are probably less than reasonable.

I think it's a great idea Eddie!

Keep us up to-do-date.

No pics are needed at this point.

What's so great about it? He posted the same Cr*p a few months back. Oh wait this is the thread. Who the heck brought it back to life?

Question: How is he going to make it hit the way you want when he can't even count the right number of points on a cue?

I have mentioned this idea briefly on a pre-existing thread several months ago, however after giving this some serious thought and the overwhelming phone calls and PM's I have received from fellow AZr's and alot of the locals who really like my configuration of a good hitting cue, so I have decided to do the following :

I will have 2 lines of cues...

The first line also my current one with signature, will now show my logo of an engraved with 14k "gold-leaf" straw of wheat, this will indicate that the cue is completely custom-fitted to the customers specs 100% and made to order, numbered and dated chronologically...

The second line will feature an engraved "silver" straw of wheat which will indicate this cue is NOT custom fitted and is average balanced for the NOW avg. player's armspand and most of these cues will be 60" in length with my style hit and playability... and a dedicated numbering system as well....

This is obviously warranted, especially for the ongoing inquisitions of how do my cues hit, and I have to respond with "the exact way you want them to !"

So this pre-existing idea and what kind of hit and playability I like is now going to be incorporated in the world of "WheatCues" in the very near future...

Once again, I still don't intend on competing in the resale market and would not care to have my work sought after on that level.... remember, I build "tools" for players... not "art" for collectors and/or flippers !

These cues will still be the same base price with obvious price adjustments assessed accordingly !

Also I think this would be sufficient for the less critical players who just want a nice custom cue without having to wait for it to be built !!!

I would love to hear opinions and suggestions regarding my idea and improvements or changes would be greatly appreciated !

As expected there will probably be the few select "clowns" that will manipulate everything I stated and try to make me look bad or incompetent, but all I have to say about that is view the thread "REQUESTED PICS OF WHEATCUES" if you have any doubts and that should give you a real good understanding of what kind of quality and praises you can expect from my custom fitted cues starting at 350.00...

Sincerely, Eddie Wheat

Mr. Eddie--------------

A few curious questions.

1. Approximately what weight will they be?
2. what will the joint be made of?
3. what pin size?
4. by average balance, do you mean slightly forward balanced?
5. will they come in a variety of woods?
6. about what price will they go for?
7. will these be like a sneaky or a player?
8. can we get a tip of choice?

cheers---------BW

2. what will the joint be made of? Don't know but it must be good

5. will they come in a variety of woods? YES-Whatever he sends you, this includes the number of points.
6. about what price will they go for? Whatever the price is you will still be cheating ED out of money

8. can we get a tip of choice? How deep do you want it?

cheers---------BW

Hope this helps

The questions you should really be asking is how long will the delivery realistically and actually take, and how far off from your requested specs will it be.

The only cue Mr Wheat has ever delivered to AZer as far as we know took 8 months to deliver, when the delivery time was originally promised to be 2 weeks. The cue was already premade, Mr Wheat just needed to make a second shaft for it was all. The length of the cue, the number of points, and other specs were also incorrect by quite a bit. There were TONS more problems with the transaction but I'll let you do a search to read about it. I would highly suggest it.

Cool

Awww sweet a new Wheat line. Guess all else I can say is

Mammy's little baby loves short'nin', short'nin',
Mammy's little baby loves short'nin' boxes, I mean bread.

Hey good luck with the new line man. Sounds awesome

This has to be the best plan EVER!!! Take 7 months to build a shaft the wrong length, then piss the customer off so bad that he sends the cue back to you-BRILLIANT!!! Now he can sell the cue again.
Shame on you Eddie.

Ok, now I get it. You're going to mass market a cue made by you called Silver Straw or Silver Wheat or something like that, and have us believe it's a custom cue?

Will you offer any special combinations of woods in the butt and forearms or will they be a stock item, look alikes but numbered. If they will all be the same but with numbers, how many of each cue will you make?

Sounds like you're going to be cranking out the cues, without any customizing and selling them as custom cues. My question: isn't that by definition a production cue?

Flex

Actually that's the whole point of the Silver straw vs. the gold straw so there is a distinct differenc between " silver - stock/generic" and " gold - true custom cues" this way I can cater to both sides of the market and everyone in between and not have to say no to anyone when it comes to bulding them what they want even if I have to redo it completely.. I will make sure it's exactly what you want and expect in the end result regardless !

P.s. If I recieve CHarlies cue back and it's NOT in a million pieces and is usable I already have a buyer and I will sell it and send mr. edwards 700.00 back to him in the form of a cashiers check which I will post on here prior to mailing it directly to him !

This is good news for Mr.Edwards. I hope it happens.

The only other thing I have to say is

Charlie has been extremely clear that he was returning the cue as to distance himself from Eddie, and asked Eddie to never mention his name again. But, Eddie will do it anyway, so...

And if he does return the cue, I WILL be sending him his 700.00+ refund back to him becasue it is HIS money and does NOT belong to me and I have zero reason to keep it !

I do NOT want any hard feelings with him or anyone else regardiing this one bad transaction !

I AM an honorable person !
