Hi I'm Hightower, not to be confused with Chris, my famous father who still can't build half as good of a cue as myself! (Ha! He's reading this over my shoulder.)

Anyway, I guess it's about time I entered the digital vortex of cybercuespace and joined you here on az. Looking forward to it!

Thanks,

Hightower84

welcome to the forum. I met you at the SBE last and had a chance to shoot with one of the cues that you had made with the real skinny butt. Different but I liked it. Mabe you can show off some of the cues that you made..

Welcome!

Glad to have you! If you contribute half of what your father has over the years, you will be a great addition to the forum!

cybercuespace
good word!
i'm going to remember that one for scrabble
welcome to the az club

All you guys have to do to see my son Israel's work is go to www.hightowercues.com and look at the cue gallery. 90% of the cues on there were done by both of us. He has been building a few cues that I did not do anything to and I build a few that he has not done anything to.
I guess he was around 7 when he built his first cue. I put the finish on it for him, but he did the rest, I even held his hand steady while he ran the Irish linen wrap. He has pretty much taken over the inlay work on the cues in recent years, other than gem stones and veneer work, which I have kept doing myself. I do the leather wraps also. He has recently come up with some different ways to put the handles together that balances the cues more to his taste. So now we have a debate going about which plays the best. That is why he put the comment about me not being able to build half as good a cue. He has also recently developed a synthetic tip.

Dad must be getting ready to retire. Time to groom the youngster.

I actually just said that because I knew it would get under your skin there, dad! Unlike my cue wielding abilities, my cue building abilities are just a little bit better than yours, not actually twice as good!

hahaha, Nice to see your still the same young man I like.:grin-square:

Looks like we may wind up with a father son build off if this keeps up. :)
In truth, your cue wielding abilities are better than mine (but not twice as good IMO). When it comes to cue making we are even in most areas, but my cue building abilities are a little better than yours in some areas and vice versa, especially when it comes to CNC work you are light years ahead of me. That is why we make a good cue building team.

Wow there are now 2 Hightowers on board! Maybe we should refer to you guys as the TWIN TOWERS  :grin-square:

There should be 3 towers, The daughter is the real smart one.
Yeah, she is the smart one! She actually knows when to hold her peace at times. That is a gift Israel and myself lack at times. :)
This guy walked her down the aisle, put a ring on her finger and changed her name, so she no longer goes by Hightower.

Israel has a two year old daughter and the other night she said that she was going to be an excellent pool player like her dad, but better than him.
I got a kick out of that knowing he had just posted this thread.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome! Hope that the slight amount of father/son woofing doesn't offend anyone.

It takes many gears to run a clock and keep it running. Less like twin towers, and more like one solid clock tower.
