Alex P will play to entertain so that match means nothing imo but I suspect Sigel and Schmidt will play hard for bragging rights
When Mike Sigel made his 'out of retirement' tournament apperence for a 14.1 tournament... he ended up breaking his cue and losing to a young talented player from Carson City Nevada named John Schmidt.

The AVERAGE amount of people watching each pro's matches throughout the year is probably less than 50. The amount of people watching you play when you are on the IPT or TAR live feed is going to be perhaps more poeple than have watched you play all year. The players know this and I have to believe that pool players care a lot about how others think they play and move.
That being said I think anyone doing a live match is playing their heart out and perhaps even more nervous than normal.
These matches are potentially huge for the players to get future sponsers. $$$
Most matches the pros play in front of an audience they aren't guaranteed any money for winning because they are usually going to be in the early tourney rounds.
I will bet on these matchups all day long knowing full well that my horse is trying his hardest.
