Thank you participating on the IPT this year. We appreciate all you've done to make this Tour the greatest in history. Next year will be even bigger and better, more television on all three major networks. $10,000,000 purses in all tournaments! With a $100,000,000 bonus at the end for the top 100 players.

All I did was suggest that they may want to look into what Mr Trudeau is into now...that it might make a fine follow-up to the January '06 report. I suggested they peruse the Filipino press for some interesting tidbits.

To be honest, I would be surprised if anything came of it...but stranger things have been known to happen.

If any online gambling company were to become the Owners of IPT they would be no more likely to attract punters bets than they were before buying it.If the Owners are offering worse odds than their online competitors after they buy IPT the majority of punters will bet with the competitors.This isn't rocket science.

If any online gambling firm is in negotiations to buy IPT it is therefore for other reasons.:

Another very important issue arises with respect, specifically, to Mr Ho's potential purchase of the IPT. It would create a major conflict of interest, or minimally, the appearance of one with respect to the honesty of the event. To have the same company accepting wagering on a sporting event that it also owns and operates would definitely give the appearance of the possibility of a controlled outcome.

In fact the scenario is absolutely absurd, it's similiar to the NY Yankees accepting wagers outcome of a World Series that they are playing in, too prone to manipulation. Gaming gambling establishments must, by their nature, be distanced from the teams that they accept wagers on.

I don't think Mr. Ho would put himself in that position.

Is that all? What about the William Morris Agency and what endorsement deals will we get? Will you set up sports shows so we can make money from our autographs? How 'bout private jets provided to all tournaments and all expenses for hotel accommodations paid? And instead of free tickets to the tournament, we would also like free hotel accommodations for our families and friends too...

Yes Jimmy quite correct.....I included the potential conflict of interest you mention (at the very least in the eyes of the punters and possibly in the eyes of any regulatory bodies or gaming licence issuers) in a post I made on this subject several weeks ago.

I guess that's where we're opposite in our thinking... I don't know that it's actually coming and don't really see where Ho would benefit spending a large amount of money on something that he could start up himself cheaper. I'm a cynical type of person... you're nicer & more patient about things than I am.
