Wouldn't the current situation be a good one to bring to the attention of 60 minutes or dateline for exposure?

Yes, perfect. Pitch it to them. Go to their website and send them an e-mail. That's all it takes. Refer them to AZ billiards.

Does anyone remember which prime time news show did a think on KT? I think it was right before the Orlando event last yr... I think it was 60 Minutes but I'm not positive... There was a thread about it in the main forum. I recall some people being upset because they shed KT in a bad light.

Whichever show it was will be your best bet. They could do it as a follow up segment...

Please folks, I urge you to wait! I think the IPT is still going to be viable and a great tour. Please don't mess up the Ho deal!

Linda, how long are you willing to wait and how many annoucements about announcements are you willing to accept? I hope you know that I'm asking this in sincerity and not as a smart a$$. :)

Of course, we all want answers. I have 30 or so deals in my pipeline for work, and I would love to know when those people are going to sign. The answer is...I just don't know. Some may never sign. Some will take another year to sign. Hopefully, not for the IPT. It should be imminent. Of course, it was supposed to be imminent back in Sept. too. Some of my deals have looked imminent and one dragged on for 2 years! They are supposed to start service finally on Nov. 2, and we are going to be celebrating with champagne...me, the CEO and the Radiology Administrator!

The new law put a kink in the works, for sure, but everyone is still hopeful that Ho wll sign next week. I guess we will know more tomorrow. As long as I know it is actually coming, I can wait as long as it takes. :o

I guess that's where we're opposite in our thinking... I don't know that it's actually coming and don't really see where Ho would benefit spending a large amount of money on something that he could start up himself cheaper. I'm a cynical type of person... you're nicer & more patient about things than I am. ;)

Then I guess that tomorrows announcement will be:

Wait till next week, because next week HO is coming to the States. Please be patient.

Dear IPT members,

Thank you for your patience. This announcement is for the express purpose of announcing next weeks announcement. Great things and good news will be made in next weeks announcement. I know I said that in last weeks announcement about this weeks announcement but I really mean it this time.

Oh yeah, and the checks are coming soon. Please tell your mortgage company, the bank where your car loan is, and your hungry kids that mommy & daddy will be paid in the quickest time possible and be sure to thank them for their patience and understanding.

Yours truly,

Mr. carrot stick replacer person

And all this time, I thought there was some confusion.

I'm going to the bar and hang out with Bernie.

Not to worry. There is NOTHING that could possibly be posted on this forum that is going to change the mind of any multibillionaire including Mr. Ho.

I think she was talking about people contacting 20/20 & not wanting KT to get bad press on this matter. ;)

But unfortunately, you don't know that it is actually coming. And as far as the U.S. gambling law is concerned I don't buy that for a single moment.

A. It is a U.S. law, not some U.N resolution and there are BILLIONS of people who live in countries where pool pros are true national idols...far more so than here.
B. Nothing in the new law would prevent casinos in the U.S. from booking bets just as they do on all other sports...as far as I know...please correct me if I am wrong on that. Sure on-line betting would be a big plus but it should not be THE ONLY reason to do the deal.
C. On-line gambling has been illegal in the U. S. as long as there has been an internet. It has just been impractical for the state and federal governments to monitor people's computing habits so the new law simply forbids credit card companies from paying the on-line gambling sites.
D. Among the BS passed out by IPT officials is the $150 million price tag. GIVE ME A BREAK! If Mr. Ho posted ONE TENTH of that figure in with a credible Trustee guaranteeing payments to players with a MAXIMUM $100,000.00 first prize but required each competitor to never play in an IPT sponsored tournament I believe that nearly every pro player in the world would sign that deal in a heartbeat. The IPT owns little other than a fairly small library of 8 Ball videos a a few relatively minor TV broadcast deals. Nearly certainly, it owns NOTHING that could not be duplicated EASILY for FAR, FAR less money than the going price talk.

I don't KNOW this rossaroni....but I THINK that Mr. Ho is not stupid.

Jim

Yep, I understand that but the comment stands. Mr. Ho could care less about KT getting bad press. He already has amassed MOUNTAINS of it. In fact, the worse KT looks the more of a "savior" Ho would be considered.

And press is press. John Mark Karr will probably sell his life story rights for MILLIONS.

By the way, I admire your posts greatly.

Jim

As regards the credibility of the notion that any online gambling firm would be strongly attracted to ownership of IPT as a result of anticipated high volume betting on pool or high volume betting by the pool community on other sports etc it does seem that maybe some forum users need to be reminded that owning a pool tour would not give any online gambling company any significant market advantage whatsoever over its competitors for attracting punters bets on pool or anything else.It would give them no 'rights' whatsoever to anything betting wise.Any online gambling firm can open a book on IPT events any time it wishes,no fees are involved and the identity or the nature of business operated by the Owners of IPT will not make a blind bit of difference to that fact.

Most online punters are initially attracted to a particular online gambling firm by one or more special offers linked to opening an account.Thereafter the firm concerned keeps or loses that punter by a combination of the efficiency of their operation and the attractiveness of their odds on various events.

If any online gambling company were to become the Owners of IPT they would be no more likely to attract punters bets than they were before buying it.If the Owners are offering worse odds than their online competitors after they buy IPT the majority of punters will bet with the competitors. This isn't rocket science.

If any online gambling firm is in negotiations to buy IPT it is therefore for other reasons.

As regards the present USA Govt stance upon online gambling it is abundantly clear that the industry has been well aware of this problem for a very long time and the notion that any officers of any division of a thoroughbred gambling group of companies such as Mr Ho's would have been suddenly surprised by the emergence of this issue in the last few days/weeks just as they were about to put pen to paper on a purchase deal is an insult to the intelligence of anyone who walks upright on two legs:rolleyes:
