Grady, who are you replying to?

I think you have been sniffing too many farts.Fart sniffer said:Gabber,
Your credit must be spotless, What does my credit have to do with the IPT[ KT] NOT keeping their promises? and never make a mistake.
spw62 said:* Like Kevin T said before. The IPT is in its Infancy stage and there will be some changes along the way to get this tournament where it needs to be and I think it is unfair for everyone to keep bashing the IPT when some changes are made they will get the kinks out.
* Remember in 2007 the players will be garneted 100K in earnings even if they never win a game. I don’t see any other pool tour making that deal with the players.
* Most of the bashing on this forum is coming from people who will never play good enough to be an IPT member so what’s the problem?
* I will never play at that level so I am stuck being a spectator. I will just sit back and enjoy the action because in my 15 years in the pool business I have never seen Money Action Like this.
* Do you think the PGA went of without some changes, I doubt it.
* I only hoped they would broadcast there show on FOX SPORTS, ESPN or NESN that’s more mainstream for the United States.
* Lets See what the 2007 season brings, and remember Kevin did not force players to join so if there not happy they can give up there Tour Card and go back to playing in the Little League!
* As for the bad ref calls that hapens in every sport for years and its harder to be a ref now than ever before. Everyone has a better View that the ref with all the cams so its easy to sit back and say BAD CALL but there only Human.
(Mabe all sports should use the cam view and two way radios to make the call and that would keep people from making a mistake that could change the outcome of the Event)
* Great Job KT and all the IPT staff.

ScottW said:He specifically mentioned 9 months as far as dealing with convention space, nothing to do with payouts. Don't put words into the guy's mouth.
And having done some convention work myself in the past, including running a couple of small ones (sci-fi cons, but still!), I can say that dealing with venues can be a royal PITA. They're out to screw you whenever you blink. They will tell you one thing, and put something else in the contract. They will change things on you at the last minute, knowing that your event is on the line, and that you'll take it (and pay the extra) rather than bag your entire event.
Typically when it comes to venue space and filling hotel rooms, venues will give breaks on the cost of the venue space based on the number of hotel rooms booked associated with your event. Depending on how many rooms get booked, sometimes the venue space can be had for nothing. I never experienced a hotel kicking back cash to the event producer via jacking up the room rates - if anything, I got discounts on the room rates (nothing much) for my attendees.
And for a very convention-centric venue such as the Venitian, I can see their schedule being booked up months in advance (hence, we return to the beginning of my post).

If you are making a deal with a hotel for 200 players who can be knocked out anytime, surely the main part of the deal should be that they can check out without paying penalty.

Your credit must be spotless, by your thinking the checks for you water, gas, electric, phone, car payments and house payments have already been written for the next 20 years. That's good thinking, hopefully I can adopt this method and never make a mistake.
Bola Ocho said:Some people are just not happy unless they find a way to bash the IPT. Why can't they just see that the positives far outweight the negatives or adjustments/changes? Look, I'll be the first one to condemn the IPT if they do something dirty or slimy - so far they haven't. What do you call this then? If KT went back on his promise to pay after every round just to make some extra kick-back money from the rooms, wouldn't that be a little sneakey or slimy? Would that be helping pool players or exploiting them?
My question still stands. Why do a bunch of internet people have such a concern over the payment of the players when it is really only the concern of the players? We have some players right here in this forum, right here in this thread that are VERY HAPPY and pleased with everything the IPT has done and is doing. Many on here are or could be potential clients of the IPT.
If they're happy - you should be happy. The players don't need internet lawyers to attack the IPT or KT's every syllable on their behalf....
Gabber said:A poster makes a valid complaint and you guys jump in as apologistes for the IPT providing [ imaginary] excuses for what happened.
Why should you care anyway? Are you a player?![]()
Now we get the 'be thankful' crap which has NOTHING to do with the subject of the thread.
Did KT 'mis-speak'?.............. Hardly.
Were they too busy? ...........Thats laughable.
When players put up $1,500 to play a tourny and the promoter says they will be paid after every round, then a deal has been made. KT went back on the deal. That,s all.

Bola Ocho said:That's it folks. KT is a lying dirtbag and the IPT sucks! Boycott the IPT, don't give them a dime and pray for their failure!![]()
You heard it here first. KT has went back on the "deal"...IPT's and KT's credibility is destroyed. We should all make an effort to inform all the touring pros and qualifiers of the IPT to immediately disassociate themselves with the IPT because this sort of treatment just isn't worth the $30,000 for 18th place. It's for their own good.
For the rest of us. We'll form a website. We'll call it www.IPT-watch.com where we can condemn the IPT in every way possible. We will be the watchdogs and myth busters. We'll show them!
Those dumba$$ players who won thousands and were told at the player's meeting that payday was on Sunday are suckers. Some of them actually hung around to watch the tournament, others left and had the check mailed to them. Talk about getting SCREWED! LMAO! OMG, they got ripped off by getting mailed thousands of dollars in prize money. Hey, we all know pool players can play, but we never said they were bright!
