IPT Promises

Gabber, you were right and i was wrong.

Btw, it doesnt hurt to admit, when in fact, i am wrong. The realization that the ipt was never real, and that kt's intentions less than admirable, has been a REAL source of hurt for me for two months. Bear in mind that i have never had anything to personally gain, but my best friend has now lost what was percieved to be a REAL opportunity to earn REAL MONEY for a really long time. and incidentally, the 350k he won at vegas, turns out that 60 percent of that may not be REAL afterall.

Now many might realize my REAL motivations.

Are we to believe that now Thorsten has not been paid { in full} what he was owed from the Las Vegas event?

I totally agree.

For me the first real sign of trouble was when he postponed the whole tour to squeeze in as many Qalys as he could. He now claims the deal with Ho is the problem but he guaranteed a Tour for at least 2 years - whatever happened. He is now changing his story so why should anybody believe him.

The IPT has no assets, the videos are probably under control of another company and KT has lied on many occasions. Doesn't sound like a good investment.

Poor underpaid pool players are now deadbeats looking for a handout 'according to KT.
I tend to agree with T on her assesment of the guy.!;)

The sad fact is that KT was never called on anything he said. He was never forced to prove any of his claims. IMO that was because of the hate/attack campagn against anyone who questioned the IPT BS!
Naysayers is a KT word.
Negative is a KT word.
The board was suddenly filled with positve IPTers who did their best to ridicule posters who questioned the IPT BS.! Most of whom will now disappear because they were only here for one purpose.

MS was the FACE of the IPT. Why isn't he answering any questions. Where is Deno?
I once had a PM conversation with Deno. He couldn't answer my Qs then either. He ended up getting annoyed!

Gabber.....KT is now probably/ possibly selling e-mail addresses and personal details to the highest bidder. Who knows.

Speaking for myself, the best thing about this 'return of the dead-thread' is that it contains the text from the IPT's Q&A where KT discusses his attitute towards payouts and the history of problems. I truely wonder how the man lives with himself.

Dave, who knows that if one hopes to get out of a hole it is best to stop digging

Randy,

Please tell us that Thorsten Hohman really did receive all of the $350,000 that he won and did not settle for only 40% of it.

I hope you are just saying that after taxes, and splitting with his backer, he only sees 40% of it.

If he did settle for less I have to wonder how many other players have settled for less. If he did how many players knew he settled for less? And they still went to Reno without a guarantee?

Since the average professional pool player is not the most trustworthy person I now have trouble believing any of the high payouts were made in full. How about the Hall of Famers did they actually receive $30,000? Or were they part of the plan to deceive too? Was it all show?

This could end up being bigger than the Chicago Black Sox scandal. Or the Pete Rose Scandal. But you know what? No one will care. Not the fans; not the press; not the players; not anyone.

Jake

i cant get into particulars here. I can say that thorsten has no backers.

I can say he received all of what he was supposed to. There are MAJOR problems, though, in the SMALL details of the payment.

This will be the last post on this subject from me.

Randy,
Are you saying that 60% of Thorsten's $350k payment was not cash/check, but was instead in the some other "form" of payment? Like "shares" of the IPT or virtual "Ho-deal"-based company???

EDIT: Oops. Sorry, Randy. I didn't see your post right above this one saying you weren't going to comment anymore. . . . .

HUH??????? In his own press release he dissed the FIFTY players who...according to him...did just that!!

Jim

Is this a joke? Did you read my whole post? Did you also note it was from many months ago? In case you haven't noticed what's going on here, "many months ago" in IPT-parlance = "before we realized Kevin was using the pro players as bait to hook all the $2,000 qualifying fish".

I also wasn't privy to the knowledge that so many people were coming up to him - that would piss me off too. However, because the number 50 came out of Kevin's mouth, it is probably closer to 2 or maybe 3.

Anyway, here is my ENTIRE post.

You are clearly going to respond by just saying "Well he told them they were getting paid after each round" and perhaps you're correct according to the letter of the law, as it were.

But to me, this all just sounds like the sour grapes of someone who is more angry at the lot he's chosen in life, at his inability to come up with some way to pay what amounts to a very small sum of money.

I say this in all seriousness: if you are a grown man and cannot figure out a way to deal with a situation like this, you need to re-think some things in your life. That's a much larger issue than KT re-thinking the payment schedule.

Same as with NYC Dude...I DID NOT notice that old posting dates. My bad.

SORRY!

Jim

NYC Dude...<<and JIM, kinda funny that you are quoting thorsten to me.>>

Also kinda funny that you have me on ignore and yet feel inclinde to snipe back at me on the forum.

You didn't acknowledge my APOLOGY to you re: our debate on the circumstances of AF not being part of the original challenge match...that LJJ was in...nor have you apologized to me for the FACT that I was essentially CORRECT about that matter and you were essentially WRONG!

Ironically, we are both essentially on the same side re: the IPT/Player's issues and I greatly applaud you for the time and action that you are providing.

We engaged in an honest debate about our differing version of what happened in the above-referenced match and putting me on ignore for that was over-kill in my opinion...but hey, you can and will do whatever you want.

Possibly the person who PM'd Dude without bothering to point out that I had obviously not noticed the stale dates will be...umm...kind enough to pass this on as well.

Why did KT wait till the players were at the Tournament to tell them that they would have to wait till Sunday to get their money which he had promised to pay out after each round?
There must have been a reason for it.
I thought it was a big deal because he was going back on a PROMISE/GUARANTEE that he had been shouting from the rooftops from day one!
His main/only selling point to the players was the Real money and after postponing the tour for 6 months, he announces a change in the payouts at the very first open tournament!.
People believed KT because they wanted to, not because of the facts but despite them.
Didn't KT say that the prize money was guaranteed by an International Accounting firm?
I guess that was a total lie.

Yes he did say the money was garunteed by a national accounting firm. Yes, it was a bold faced lie.

There are no consistencies to hold on to or to put any hope in.

Qualifiers continue and the IPT/KT keep accepting the money adding to the list of victims.

Deno continues to call players each day prtending to some poor worried soul. I think this is called justifying his stance or position.

Mark Trainor is calling his stable and sking them not to sue. He wants to put $2-300,000 in an IPO involving KT. He needs therapy!

Players will in all liklihood recieve some type of payment and there will surely be some kind of scam involved and it could be costly.

There are to me, IMO, two unforgiveable acts, thus far.
1. The money was never escrowed with any accounting firm. For this he should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. He has shattered dreams and broken hearts all over the world.
2. He allowed men and women to travel from all over the world to Reno Nevada and well knowing he could not pay what the Players {and others} had coming in the form of PRIZE FUNDS. Their lives were just coming together. Heads were held high. Sure many bought into a scam, that is no crime and another matter. For this, he should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

There is so much more involved here than money!!!!

What are you waiting for?

Some people are just not happy unless they find a way to bash the IPT. Why can't they just see that the positives far outweight the negatives or adjustments/changes? Look, I'll be the first one to condemn the IPT if they do something dirty or slimy - so far they haven't.....

i'm with you - if they ever get the kinks out this will be a great thing for everybody involved. don't be discouraged - there will always be naysayers trying to thwart anything new and exciting with their so-called facts and reasoning...

LOL! You're about 5 years a little late with this, aren't you? ;)

Are any IPT players still unpaid? I thought they paid it all off but took forever and a day something like 9 payments.

I think itmeaning the IPT was so closeto being a good thing for pool they had that deal with Versus and the early tourney paid off and the players were treated very well. I know Kevin T blew more than they ever took in and I expect that means they were actually trying to make a go of something whether it was a tour or just a product that they could sell.

I know it was the last straw for many a great player.

Since the last post was almost 5 yrs ago, whats the purpose?

Exactly, what is the point.
This seems a long time ago and I feel did far more damage than good.
i dont defend KT in an shape, form, or fashion, but I feel he was sold a "Bill of goods" as well!
Whenever I think of him now, I will always remember,"what is IPT"!

Well it has been 5 years so the point is moot.... I will say this... Instead of bashing KT you need to get on the phones and bash your senators and congressmen...

The legislature killing internet gambling and the use of credit cards for such was the death blow....

We'd have a healthy tour and be singing IPT praises if govt would have just stayed out of it... Never would of happened tho because they couldn't figure a way to get their slimy hands into that pie......

I am going by memory but I don't think there was any deal with Versus, they bought the time like an infomercial, no one paid them, they paid. It was a money losing proposition from the start with no business plan to ever make any money. It was a fantasy, but for what end? The whole thing was insane from the start. It made so little sense the mystery is what were they trying to do? They put up a fund of money and ran through it then folded; WTF was that all about?
