I am not familiar with Karl and would be interested to hear from others about this player from England. Out of all the fields this weekend, he played in the toughest one, IMHO, at Paradise Billiards in Corpus Christi, TX, which is still in progress at the time of this writing. Karl stayed in the winners' bracket and snatched one of the two qualifiers. Now there's five players left in the tournament, and whoever comes out on top gets the second qualifier.
Would also be interested in hearing the news from Australia and Shanghai. Calling all Colins....![]()

Agreed, it's great to see Karl make it after entering several events and performing impressively consistantly. I would not be surprised if he finishes high in LV and manages to get himself on the tour in 2007.Riggers said:Many congratulations to Karl Boyes for coming through the toughest qualifier of the weekend. Nobody deserves this more than him. If anyone had been following the action in the qualifiers for the Tour earlier this year you would know that aside from Vilmos Foldes, Karl was the player who came the closest to getting his IPT tour card without actually making it. He consistently finished in the top 10 in large and very strong fields. His biggest disappointment came in Boston (3rd place) where he lost 10-8 in the final to George Breedlove after leading 8-5.
But that's all in the past and that set back is forgotten now. Well done Boyzi. Bring on LV!
