Yes, I just saw this too. I have this to say....are you f-ing kidding me?

First, understand that I'm not bashing anyone's ability as a player. I realize that every single one of these 20 can play. But as pool fans, we get to choose, and you're telling me that #2 and #3 are Vilmos Foldes and Gerda Hofstatter, respectively? You can't tell me there isn't some funny business going on with the voting.

Look, I guess the truth is that those of us who truly believe this should not be happening can change this by voting every day. But there are names on this list that don't make sense to me, and irregardless of whether or not they should be on this list, the ones I'm thinking of certainly do not make sense in the order that they're in.

Again, it's not my intention to knock anyone's ABILITY to play. But Larry Schwartz vs. Gerda Hofstatter isn't that far from happening, and is anyone going to get excited about that?

from now on I'll be voting for Jasmin Ouschan as she is the only one I would love watching play among those three who have their chances.
Vilmos is a promising young gun and is not that bad to watch, but there are better options. Gerda?... I'm not a fan of female pool, sorry. (Jasmin is not playing like a girl really)
And, as Foldes couldn't gain that much of popularity among US voters (who must be the majority), I could suspect him and Gerda of using bots for getting votes. IPT made a huge mistake allowing multiple votes and not excluding IPs of the people who voted already.

Who the heck is Vilmos Foldes? And how is it possible for him and Gerda to be in first and second place??

well he could have played in WPC 2007 final instead of Peach but fell down to the Brit. Very gifted and successful during his junior years, a junior world champion if I'm not mistaken. But still not ready to win the poll I suppose.

I don't understand that either

I think people need to get on there and vote for Larry Nevel and Shane Van Boening. Since Shane doesn't want to play Larry on his own money, maybe he'll play him on the IPT's money. It's probably THE ONLY way we're going to get to see this match (non-tournament) because of Shane.

What's this all about SVB not wanting to play Larry? Is there a story behind this, or just rumor?

It depends who you ask. I've been there more then once when Larry asked Shane to play and Shane said no...but according to people here Shane will play Larry. Of course there are very few people here that actually know either of these players on a personal level and there are even less that have been around when games have been brought up between them. Shane does not want to play Larry. He's never given a reason why, he's just kindly said "no thanks" when asked.

Because Larry is not someone a lot of people want to gamble with. Not because they fear his game, but because he whines like a baby, throws fits, etc.

Larry Nevel won't be able to compete with me in the fit-throwing dept. if Gerda plays instead of Jasmine.

vote Jasmine twice a day!
