Is anyone watching bonus ball?

This is not a bonus ball bashing thread, but a question I am genuinely curious about. How is viewership? I notice that there have been a few free streams and I was wondering if this was because viewership is down. I don't see a lot of "chatter" or buzz on azb from the fan base.

I haven't watched, I don't know the rules and don't want to know them. I don't think pool needs a new game, but I do respect the people behind this giving the players an opportunity. So far, it hasn't got my interest.

I'm still working on the "old" games, when/if I run 100 in straight pool and six racks of 9 ball, maybe I'll try something new.

How is that getting BB on TV contract going for them? I heard wait till we're on TV about everyday before they started playing for real. Now silence about it. Johnnyt

I just watched Ernesto Dominguez draw nearly to table lengths to get straight in for the orange in the same pocket for his son.

Neither of the two people in the stands clapped.

Johnny I heard that they are specifically going to record just a handful of matches and those ones they will fill the stands and get the best commentators (Scott Frost)

Now I mentioned two people not clapping to make a point and offer some advice.

I'm sure the bonus ball people get sick of being told what they should do when they already plan on doing it but I love this game and I want it to succeed so I will offer advice anyway.

When recording those TV matches to pitch to the networks you have to fill the stands. Pay people if you have to and offer them an open bar. :)

Have a warm up guy come out and get them excited and tell them that they need to clap and cheer at the awesome shots and especially when someone wins.

Introduce each player one by one with their nickname and make sure the crowd goes wild.

Have Lee Brett show more excitement when announcing the match along with all the other dialogue he does.

Make sure the bonus ball girl is smiling and clapping and looking like she is enjoying herself.

Most importantly make sure the players celebrate like it's The Mosconi cup on all wins all nice shots etc. I'm sure that they will do this when it comes to the playoffs and championship anyway.

Scott Frost and Earl Strickland's personalities have been entertaining but that's about it. No one gets very pumped over all these unbelievably amazing shots.

I have loved every minute of it but I know what America needs to keep their short attention spans. It might fly as it is now in the Asian countries but I want to watch it on my cable channels.

Thanks for listening. I hope I haven't offended anyone.

I watched the first free week and enjoyed it. I had previously watched some of the recorded matches to fully understand the game. I watched one free Thursday and bought the week end. Could not watch this week but will probably watch in future when the matches are of interest to me i.e. New York or Toronto vs anyone.

One problem though is the times the matches are shown in my time zone (east) it ends up being 7:00 p.m. (ok) 10:00 p.m. gets too late sometimes.

Have started to play it a little though.....jury still out on that but so far ok.

Yeah I watch it all the time

Good entertainment, fun to see the pros interact and especially play a game they haven't mastered and are still figuring out.

Have played the game some, don't sell it short, has a lot going on relative to strategy, position play, safety play, critical shot making and so on

I'm not much of a hater by nature and find little to hate here, but, I'm sure there are all kinds of reasons to do so

I do find it sad that people draw a line in the sand about watching it for free versus spending less than ten bucks for three two hour matches. But, it does help me understand the absolute lack of sponsorship for the sport in general. I would imagine that reading some of these posts are part of a sponsor's due diligence process prior to making a commitment.

You get 5 matches for ten bucks. Another good one coming up in 10 mins.

Simply put, there is no viewership for BB because most people including myself want to watch interesting games. One pocket, 9-ball rotation 10-ball..... Etc. BB is boring and will most likely never get any viewership simply because it is a boring and uninteresting game!!

I think they would be very smart to make all free for the next two months to build up interest.

I've watched a small amount on a free stream ( and ironically enough got to see JJ ask Earl to go outside, heh) and it was entertaining enough to watch. I haven't watched any of the recent free streams because I play league when they are on.

Still, I'm not expecting that I will pay to see it. If I'm going to spend any money on PPV pool, it will be with TAR.
