I had a cue guy change my tip on my Revo no problem. He's on AZ too, I think his name is BigB'sBBQ or BigB'sBoner or something. He did great work.
If you can pay $600 for you shaft, paying the repairguy $20 seems like a really low price to protect your investement...
To me it sounds like Predator hasn`t really thought this through, if they in all seriousness think that the customer should return the shaft to them each time a new tip is needed.
This has nothing to do with saving a nickel. I'm capable of replacing my own tips and would also like to know if it's a hassle or a Don't DIY on a Revo. I would think the biggest issue would be the glue application. I do mask the ferrule with piece of Blue Tape. Thank you BigB and Cleary.
Please leave Searing out of this.
Lord knows he has enough work.
If I were him, I'd throw anyone not using his shaft out the door . Or don't even let them in.
Just being real.
Send it to Seyberts if you want the maintain the warranty.
Best way to retip the Revo is CAREFULLY. I used Cueman collets and the Cueman tip guide.
Thank you to everyone that replied and encouraged a DIY. Good thread...thank you bbb.
The razor was used only for the tip radius. The outer circumference was trimmed with the lathe.
TYnice job goldcrown....:thumbup::thumbup:
You're welcome... I thank everyone for their input and comments.Looks like a job well done
Thanks for sharing!
Used a Triangle. It is the only tip I had onboard. Plays fine. I played with tips from $.50 - $23. One is as good as the next (for my use).Wow! Great work. What tip did you put on?
Do people really change their tips that often? It takes me forever to go through a whole tip. I think I play pretty often too. iunno. I think it's worth the piece of mind though, knowing that if any problems occur seyberts would take care of it
The original tip wore out excessively fast.Do people really change their tips that often? It takes me forever to go through a whole tip. I think I play pretty often too. iunno. I think it's worth the piece of mind though, knowing that if any problems occur seyberts would take care of it
Most don't need to be changed. It's just they want another brand tip on...looking for that silver bullet. Johnnyt
