Is Efren going to be at the Derby or Not?

Efren will not be attending next week. He is having back surgery, and won't be playing any pool for some time.
 
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWMAN! I hope he gets thru it o.k.

Efren was a big reason I am going this year! oh well.
 
Looks like Francisco, Dennis O., Roberto Gomez, Alex, Lee Vann and Luat are all coming, plus maybe a few others. It's not like the PI won't be represented there.
 
Is there a chance of getting an address made public to maybe send a get well card?
 
Maybe the surgeon can be convinced to use a helmet cam?

anyone know if these guys will play some cheap $25 one pocket like Efren used to? I was looking forward to losing some money to a champion or 2, and I promise not to ask for weight! :)

At the U.S. OPen 9 Ball Championship a few years ago, I walked up to Ronnie Alcano, when he was practicing by himself and asked him if he wanted to play some $10 one pocket, EVEN-UP and he almost got a cramp in his neck nodding yes. Each time I missed an easy shot he would cackle, in his high-pitched voice, "EASY-MONEY". :lol: When I won a game, I would mimick him and he and his entourage laughed and we all had a good time.

(Just make sure you say "EVEN-UP" and announce the dollar amount you can justify. The "EVEN-UP" statement is the DEAL-MAKER! :wink:)
 
Efren

Great Efren story at the pool hall last night. One of our guys was a referee at the Galveston World Tournament last year and was standing there when Efren checked in. The girl asked him for ID, and he fumbled around and gave her his passport. She said 'that's great but I need one more peice of ID'. Efren glanced around, and seeing table with billiard magazines on it, grabbed one with his picture on the front, held it up next to his head, and smiled. 'Yeah', she said, 'that works for me'. Efren's a true gentleman and I hope he gets well and comes back soon!
