Is Might get me Kickoff or Ban from AZBilliards... But I question Bob Jewett Post about value of books????

If you look at Bob Jewett Post on numerous of posts he under estimate values of books, until he sell one!! Why?

Just look at what he value Eddie Robin's Books.... Then look at what he Sell them for!

Don't be too excited about a rare book. Most were put together after 1970 and are the easiest to duplicate for almost zero cost. Even the cover and binding is so easy to duplicate, even the author could not tell. I worked for Xerox. Imagine the speed...1300 pages, 2 sided per minute and comes out in the form of a book. Thinking fast yet? Xerox is firm about not infringing on copyright....but not all pool players are.

Bob has probably more accurately estimated the value of pool related books on AZ than anyone else. We've both been on this site for 20 plus years and I've seen most of his posts on books.

Not only that, but he also tried to help the original authors or their families by telling people where they can buy books direct. Billiard Atlas books from Walt Harris's family, or the Shots, Moves and Strategies book from Eddie Robin himself.

I can't remember any posts that were widely out of line with the current value of the book.

Typically, I'd agree. But I'm also of the belief that if someone makes a post saying something to the effect of "this might get me banned" in the title, they usually know they're about to post something with the intent of ruffling feathers or causing some other kind of drama. Not always. But usually. And I don't have a problem with someone getting offended or riled or whatever. But when it's made with that intent, it's a bit of a different story. It also gives me a "ban me so I'm the victim" vibe.
