I believe their cut is 3% of the sale price.poolplayer2093 said:Hi i was thinking of trying to sell a cue here. but i got to thinking about it i've used paypal to buy things before but never to sell anything. is it worth the charge? and how much do they charge to accept money?
Hal said:I would normally say yes paypal is great. However just last week I had my first encounter with "Paypal sucks".
I had a buyer file an "Item not as described" complaint about A USED ITEM THAT I LISTED "AS IS". Paypal immediately put a $-177.00 balance on my account.
They are currently reviewing my case. According to what I've read, I'll be told to refund her money and all she has to do is prove that she shipped something back to me. Which will undoubtedly be an empty box.
She gets the item and a refund. How lovely.
Check out paypalsucks.com and read the horror stories.
Hopefully you have pictures of the item you sent her. Set up a file with pictures and all the communications between you & her & Pay Pal. If you sent the item "insured", it would not be unreasonable to expect her to return it "insured". In that event, you're covered. If she returns an item, different from what you sent, or an empty box, she's guilty of mail fraud. Pursue it with the Postal Inspector.Hal said:I would normally say yes paypal is great. All she has to give paypal is a tracking number proving that something was mailed. It doesn't even have to arrive. The fact that she mailed it is good enough.TellsItLikeItIs said:Hopefully you have pictures of the item you sent her. Maybe I've been lucky, or maybe just cautious enough, but in all the years I've had a Premier account I've had zero problems.
