I have not read anything from him lately and that suprises me. He usually has lots to say. I was just reading another post where I know he would have chimed in and yet, not a peep.

I seem to remember reading in one of his posts a while back about him having plans for a short vacation visit back to the states.

I hope he's enjoying that vacation. Many of us take it for granted that we can just hop in the car and go to the 7-11 or to the pool hall to hit some balls. Having spent some time in the Middle East, I know there aren't many tables. I respect anyone that has the courage and conviction to serve their country - either in the military - or as a civilian that supports our troops on a daily basis. It's one hell of a sacrifice.

To Russ:
Try to make it to Orlando before you go back - I'd like to buy you a beer before you head back.

I received that from a friend of mine, who received it from someone else, who probably received it from someone else. Sorry.

Scott Lee just met him, said he was great....SPF=randyg

I did recently have the opportunity to meet Russ, and he is a very nice guy, with a great family. Russ is back in Iraq now, and mentioned that he may not have any opportunity to post for awhile, due to military restrictions where he stays. I will tell you one thing...anybody would be jealous of the knockout poolroom that his wife Juanita had constructed for him, while he was last overseas. It is a garage reconstruction, and you'd NEVER know it from either outside or inside. Absolutely first-class, and imo, on a par with Williebetmore's basement poolroom...which is saying a LOT! :D

Shenanigans! You spilled the beans, Scott! Oh well.. Yes, I had Scott Lee over, and it was in fact him that told me my table was tight.. I didn't realize at first... :D

I am doing okay everyone, thank you for asking. I am bummed out here in Iraq, though.. The game room and everything else new back home is so nice that coming back to Iraq REALLY sucked!

Blackjack, when Scott told me that he was going up to see you the next day, I was sorely tempted to see if I could tag along to say hi to you, but didn't know how it would go over, since we had ruffled each other's feathers over those silly threads about pool videos. I would have really enjoyed coming to have that drink, and maybe shoot a few games. My stroke is horrible from basically a year of not playing anyone who could hit the rail, but I don't think I embarassed myself too badly with Scott.

For those who have doubted Scott, I have to say that the lesson was definitely worth it. He identified a few things I need to work on, but I think the main thing he brought to my attention (though he might not realize it) was I need to lock down my personal eye pattern. I've made it my main focus whenever I could play a little to make sure I followed a certain eye pattern, and it's got me playing quite a bit better. It's something I used to have down pretty well, but a few years away from the game takes it's toll.

Blackjack, I think the next time I come home will be the last, so I will make sure to come and say hi..

Blackjack,
Do they put pool tables at the ice cream shops down there too?;)
I think I need a vacation.

Good to hear you're OK, Russ. I'd been wondering where you'd gotten to. I can imagine leaving that new pool room behind was a hard thing to do. I think I'd need to be dragged away!!
