is the "no lookie" on the 8 uncalled for

I was at a bar box tournament one time and did a one-handed, between the legs, bank, no-lookie while waving to a group of girls sitting at a table and made it! Needless to say, I didn't get laid that night. I think I should have went for the 4 railer.

In the early 90s I watched Jimmy Mataya play Francisco Galindo an ahead session for 1k. So Mataya is on the hill and is running out and woofing at the mexican corporation the whole time. Every shot its get down, stroke it ten or twelve times, get back up and woof some more.

So he gets on a tough 8. He has to draw it to the rail with inside to spin three rails to get on the 9. Down on the shot..get back up..woof some more about who he is going to beat next...rinse and repeat. Finally he fires the shot in and gets dead nuts perfect on the 9. He runs around the table and then whips his cue behind the back and fires in the 9 one handed as he shouts out "AM I NOT THE BEST IN ALL OF MEH HEEE COOO?!!?!!?!!"

What difference does it make, really?? You might miss, if you don't, {and you didn't} so what?? The things done while you were shooting are the kind of things that keep me from ever wanting to play in leagues. A "no-lookie" is no big deal.

At the risk of being rude... a no-lookie on the 8 is stupid.

its only stupid if you miss the no lookie bank 8 whould have been crem dela crem after their antics I love to rub it in a poor sports face.
a guy did that to me right before I was about to forfit the rest of the first set and all of the second set because I was tierd ,woke me right up I came back and closed him out in the first set .his mouth cost him $120 and I let him know it

1stroke

These are some reasons I hate leagues. 10x more sharking and childish behavior occurs at leagues than any gambling session. And all for what?? some Points? Yippie!!

Not all Leagues allow that crap. Find the right League and have fun....SPF=randyg

I don't consider it rude if someone wants to shoot a no-lookie or similar show off that makes the shot more difficult... I'm thrilled if my opponent wants to do that. Anything my opponent can do that might give them even a 5% greater chance of missing, I'm all for it. Not sure why your opponents would get mad over such a thing :)

I think it was a nice way to handle it actually. If anyone jangles keys or tries to shark me in any detectable way, my first instinct is to go straight for the F-bomb and let the sullen angry aftermath follow. You dealt with it using humor and kept things friendly (though I don't know that the key jangler got the message he/she really needed to get).
