I haven't heard anything bout the Viking Tour in a few years or more. Is it still alive? Seemed to be a pretty good regional tour. Johnnyt

I believe it is now known as the Simonis Cloth tour. At least that's the tour that clown Mike Janis is running now.

I agree the Viking Tour was huge in the Midwest, when our local room hosted one it was not uncommon to have 70-80 players , a lot coming from surrounding States. The Vikings National was played in Northfield Ohio in 2002 drawing a 128 players and in 2003 drawing 134 players. The players list included Strictland, Medina, Matthews, Deual, Coltrain, Archer, Weismen, Daulton, Putman the list goes on and on. The 10000 sq. Ft. Poolroom , charged $10 per session and was jammed packed. They brought in bleachers and also sold VIP seats at $125 for the whole 5 days. The room stayed open 24/7 . Then it seemed to evaporate into thin air?
