Is there a way to just broadcast voice like radio over the Internet? What I'm getting at is for when the stream goes down esp. during a PPV match that someone can keep the viewers updated via voice until the Internet comes back up. Johnnyt

Methinks there is a problem there!

Johnny, did I ever tell you about listening to the radio as a child?
Sergeant Preston of the Yukon and his dog King would come on the air and I would lay in my bed with the radio nearby and envision all the wondrous things they would do as they chased badmen all over the northwest territories. My imagination knew no bounds.
Well, one night the BCA National 3-Cushin Championships came on and for the next four hours all I heard was an occasional tick, tick, followed by a few minutes of silence, then another tick, tick. Over, and over, and over. Finally, I turned it off and went to sleep. Radio was never quite the same after that. :D

If the pool hall's net access dies, the only alternative is a different internet line.

With a good cell phone, you can tether that phone's internet access (which comes from the cell tower) to the computers being used for streaming.

You could then use that net access as a backup to keep the stream going (if the connection is good enough) or possibly to broadcast voice only.

With a less advanced phone, you could still at least post on AZB forums that the stream is down, and those who think to check the forums will see the message and be reassured.
