I tried to post this in the schon thread but they do not have an easy way to post photos. Wish they would make it easier.

I have had some Schons but NEVER seen this. What is the story here??? Found this on ebay.

Also note the size of the marshmallow rubber bottom bumper..... I will ease of on it by it can't be a schon bumper. Owner says it is a 20 yer old schon

Enlighten me/us. please

My intuition says not a chance. First of all, that's a sticker, not an engraved logo. Second, the rings scream cheap import (tho Schon has rings similar) and don't line up to the inlays. Lastly, that bumper should only be sticking half way out in a real Schon butt cap due to the countersink. If it is a real Schon, it's at minimum been monkeyed with to such extent to render it worthless. More likely, it's a poor excuse of a knock-off.

Good observation..... It would be very "un-germanlike" to use calligraphy for the word Schon. Ha.

Interesting/unusual to see though..... thanks for the thoughts. It looked counterfeit, but I have never seen soething like this one.

May be a knock off, but more likely a restoration where someone put back on their version of the logo after a refinish. They probably also put the butt plate back on with a shallow hole, explaining why the long Schon bumper sticks out too much.

I recon one would have to take that cue far, far away from this country to find someone that was a cue repair guy that had no idea what a Schon looks like... I mean "really!!!!" I will give the guy props for spelling it right and nice penmanship, but wrong application.

How can one be in the cue business and decide to wing it, and not know about Schons???? Would love to know how that happened and what substance abuse or strange mushroom under a tree caused it???

And, virtually every Schon I have ever seen has the word "Schon" starting closest to the buttsleeve and reading toward the bumper.

Ask nsafellow (that is his user name)

He said that he has been a longtime Schön dealer.

I did email the company about the spelling and the return said that early Schön cues did not have an umlauted "o".
Even on their website Schön is sometimes spelled Schon.

Multiple spellings of a manufactured article is not good. It confuses the public. But it's their company and they can do as they wish.
