Is this "bending the OB" business an attempt to confuse lesser players?

As a lesser player myself, I have a degree of gullibility when better players teach me things. I rarely second guess someone who plays better than me.

With that being said, my instincts say there is no way the OB is bending using traditional pool cues and balls.

I have images that you are truly sitting back and laughing at all of us who are buying into your OB bending theory.

its completely possible

its cause?

COLLISION INDUCED THROW..........

we use this in one pocket all the time

the OB rotational axis changes and makes it curve..........similar to the effect you get when you roll a ball thats off center weighted its just not nearly as strong of an effect.........but the effect is there and it can be done and it does work

no one was bullshitting you and if they would have someone like scott, randy, blackjack, ratta, myself would have shot the bullshit full of holes

Dont I feel stupid for not actually reading the title! Guess my brain shut down on the bending part!

I think its a good question but..

Some of that may go on in the poolrooms/bars but on the AZ forums it would take a conspiricy of all the most knowledgeable posters to pull it off.

For myself I intend to try it and see how much bend I can get from the object ball.I doubt under normal conditions that you can get enough throw on the OB to hit center pocket on a perfect table.

I saw the title but didn't read it..........i was thinking about banking and figured thats what the OP was talking about, you know twisting banks thats def true

as far as to with an interfering ball and getting an OB to curve left then right or vice versa i hate to say its impossible........probable maybe given some equipment conditions but I don't think you could get it to vector change enough if it was more than a toothpick blocked.......

lol i read the thread after i saw your post to me and had to steal the "toothpick" measure lmfao

so to anyone reading my first post on this thread know I'm speaking of BANKING an OB and getting curved trajectory out of it.

Well we have many people here saying it is true.

We have a video of Grady, but I really don't think Grady meant the OB was curving, it is just a miscommunication in words.

Can we settle this?

If Dr. Dave chimes in, I'll consider his word the truth. His videos make me feel like Moses is coming down and telling us what the truth is about pool.

I would really have to see it to believe it.
I know about throwing an OB, but that isn't bending/masse like a twisting bank which most certainly bends.

So to the OP you can most certainly bend the OB, but it will be while banking it.

Well Grady was either throwing the OB which is really shoving it and not bending it. Of course some of the banks he shows are curving the OB, but the OB has to hit the rail for it to bend.
