is this legit?

The listings look legit. No goofy email posted for payments, no western union requests, no mass listings all in the same minute, accpets paypal.

As for the seller and honesty, no clue here.

I think he just goofed.

I think you are right, when he first listed them he had a super high-end DPK pictured. I think he got his pictures mixed up, becuased it looks to be fixed now.

Ummmmm' the item location is not the same on the cues
w. palm bch. on the dpk
All others are PA area?????
Just something to think over

It looks funny. Ed Yound uses the Silver Stitch Ringwork in the Joints. THAT IS THE ONE IN THE PICTURE. The description said "Ivory Rings in the Joints", yet there isn't any Ivory. That still sounds like it would be a sweet deal. Have you contacted the seller about your concerns?

I would be very leery. Everything he has bought has been cheap except for one auction (no cues), he has never sold any cues before, and all of his auctions for the six "expensive" cues are all ending within one hour of each other.

I think ClassicCues used to have that Ed Young or one really similar to it a while back. Joe??

It looks like one we had. But I can't say if the seller is the same guy, you know cues get around like a 5 dollar whore....

My Opinion

My opinion...

No way someone puts up a cue like this with only one picture and such a bad one at that.

But he does have a 100% positive record with 58 transactions. In my opinion, Funny to me. I personally wouldn't mess with it unless you could find out for sure it's legit.

The Ed Young cue looks like a cue listed as "sold" on Dr. Wu's site.
" You have alot of experience with alot of different cues, what is your opinion/experience with Ed Young cues...quality/playability performance?
thanks

It hit very solid. The cue Wu had, was the same one we had.

I am pretty sure these auctions are legit. The pics were all taken with the same camera set up and the prices seem to be at least in the ballpark.

I suggest e-mailing him and just asking for his phone number. Sometimes people who have short ads like this would rather talk about the item than trade a bunch of e-mails. I can tell better talking with someone on the phone what kind of person I'm dealing with.

This maybe a hijacked ebay account

i emailed this guy in reference to him having two different addresses. He replied that he just moved back to penn form west palm beach.

however, when i ask if he could authenticate the DPk, He sent me a real smart ass reply back saying Dude it's Christams!

Yeah and he's running a three day auction including Christams. Should i maybe buy it, then ask him to authenticate it.

This auction doesn't sound legitimate. Something tells me these cues may have been stolen, or he doesn't have them to begin with.

He's in ahurry to sell high priced merchandise, yet he can't answer anyone's questions. I'm not in a hurry to get burned.

There could be another side to this scenario also, maybe someone hacked this guys account and is selling these cues using his great feedback.

I asked for some additional pictures and I got no reply. I, for one, not bidding on his stuff.

I dont care how good the deal seems, if I cant see it clearly or question anything, I am not interested.

My friends here can do whatever they see fit, but there are alot fish in the sea and cues for sale......

This thievery is getting a little too prevalent on Ebay! I've gotten burned three times in the last three months, and everything in each case looked like it should go off just fine.

I recently used the "Buy It Now" feature to buy a Whitten case. I sent a money order off for the case and the day after I sent it, Ebay notified me that the guy was a crook and they'd pulled all his auctions (they said they hoped I hadn't sent the payment for anything I'd bid on!). They even did away with the pictures and verbage in the auction I just sent the payment for. Long story short, I had to jump through hoops to get a partial refund from Ebay (which I'm still waiting for).

Now comes the rub... The same case is now on Ebay again:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Whitten-Leather...9QQihZ001QQcategoryZ21211QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

This time it's being "sold for a boyfriend" by a seller with 58 transactions and a 100% feedback rating. I immediately contacted Ebay about it and they have made no effort to do anything about it. They had already removed the pictures and the auction verbage, so it boils down to my word against theirs even though the case is from the same city (and probably the same IP).

I also contacted the seller and asked them if they hadn't just sold the case. The reply was that the case had never been on a previous auction and they had just bought it in FL (even though the auctions both said it was in MA).

I think Ebay sure needs to come up with a better system for verification of their members! It used to be a great place to buy and sell... In the meantime, anyone looking at this case....BEWARE (and don't let those feedback ratings fool ya)!
