Ismael "Morro" Paez

Enjoy your life my friends because you never know when the man upstairs has different plans for you.

PacMan protest

IIRC, Morro was one of the community organizers of the HT Bellflower PacMan protest.:confused:

Morro is definitely a gentleman and his wife is a very lovely person, they bring class to every event he competes in and he is capable of beating anyone he's matched up against. He was a player rep for top cuemakers and you couldn't ask for a better person to represent your product, he had knowledge, passion for the game and there is nobody that can match his charisma and energy. Like others have said if there's anyone that can fully recover from such a devastating health issue like a stroke, it would be him.

Regarding Morro!

Talked to Anna his wife last week!
He is recovering and in long term care for time being. Right side based on my understanding is not functional! Speech is not 100% and some tongue and sight issues as well!
As I get info, I will post!
A great guy and a great family!
We wish them the best and a quick and 100% recovery!

Thank you very much for the update!

Must have 8+ years ago he had a couple of Spaniards come over and stay with him. Every day they were at Hard Times with him giving them lessons. Long sessions which for all of their seriousness produced a lot of Oos and Ahhs and a lot of laughter. I should have ease dropped more. Energy +

Thanks very much for the update... if there's any pool player with the energy to bounce back, it's Morro.... many fun nights at Hard Times just watching him in action.

Morro has always shown great respect for the game and his role as champion and teacher. I've seen him practice many days many hours. I met Morro in 1982 at the Billiard Tavern in San Diego. He lived in the area then.

One evening about 7-8 years ago Morro and I were partners in a $20 and $2 or $30 and $3 Captains golf game on Big Bertha at HTB. I'm chewing on a stick of gum as I sometimes do. Morro comes up to me between games and says sincerely and in his animated way "Maaaty, cheesus christ...why you chew the gum?...eets veddy bad...you no concentrate (motioning with his hands for emphasis)...veddy bad...you no have focus...you try no gum...you focus more better!
