It's a bona fide miracle on ebay!!!!!!

I assume that this is the one of the items that the OP is worried about:

CropperCapture[2].jpg

It is unlike any other cue ball I've seen, but I'm not an expert pool ball collector. At 1-7/8 inch it seems to me it could be from some kind of novelty set.

I will admit I never knew that there was such intrigue in the world of old billiard balls. Well all I can say is thanks for the education in what to look for.

If its a fake... report it to ebay. If you don't know... You should probably shut your yapper.

I don't really know anything about the topic at hand, but I find it interesting.

This statement:
Nowadays people look for a COA on antiques. An underhanded seller cannot possibly get a COA,
grabbed my attention.

AFAIK COAs themselves are a great source of scams. People make them up all the time and what is or isn't a legitimate COA is often questioned. Many COAs aren't worth the paper they are printed on. My brother is big into sports memorabilia. He says the shows he goes to are full of stuff that is sold with worthless COAs. According to him......

Ramen wood shafts; 100% positive feedback!!!

A friend of mine who is a dealer on Ebay bought a cue shaft from another Ebayer, supposed to be maple. It was bleached ramen wood. My friend goes crazy thinking about it because he sees the guy with 100% positive feedback. When a shaft is questioned, the seller just refunds the money. He is making so much on the deal that he just absorbs the refunds and shipping, and avoids negative feedback. Add to that that I have 100% positive feedback at over 300 transactions, although I have only sold one single item on Ebay, ever, and you see how someone can maintain 100% while selling fake crap to the unsuspecting. So again, NO, I will not be shutting my yapper. Another Ebayer, possibly the ball seller in question, buys old balls with one username, and sells them under another. Somewhere in between there is a magical transformation in value that even Doug Henning would be proud of.

You are close, but you need to make your posts a tad longer so that your blatant ad presence will cover a whole page. Is it time to start "tearing up" input? You did not read carefully. If a person is willing to fake an item, then they would be willing to print up a corresponding catalog page. You seem like you understand my motives. Maybe I should act in my own self-interest only and just let others buy junk so they'll have fewer bullets to bid against me. Since I know what is real, I could easily be like Rick, and run my cafe' while the Nazis take over Casablanca. But Rick changed, and stood up to those who would harm others. As for you and I, your thread hijacking is not selling more cases. And it sure as hell isn't helping the BUYER BEWARE.

while he's at it... he should counterfeit some 1 dollar bills.

Profiting from returned Ebay items, shafting w shafts

So the guy who was selling the bleached ramen wood shafts (pawned off as maple shafts) was selling them on Ebay for about $15, but the shipping was $14. It was shipped in a $4 flat rate box. When my friend was unhappy, the seller took it back but he only refunds the shaft price, so he profited $10 despite the item being returned and my friend couldn't even give negative feedback because he would receive retaliatory neg fb himself. I think the feedback has changed now. Still, it is easily possible to be a shyster on Ebay and still keep 100% feedback AND make a profit on top of that. But I should keep quiet and not warn my fellow AZers? Hmm.
