I need some opinion's on a cue made by "It's George". Does anyone know who the cuemaker is, if he/they are still making cues and what I should be paying for a cue of this name. The cue is a 4 point, ebony points with 4 veneer's a small ivory inlay in each point, stainless steel joint, "bushka" ring above wrap, linen wrap, ebony butt piece with 4 ivory diamonds. Any help in this matter is appreciated. Thanks

I play with one. They are a decent hitting cue. Mine is pretty plain, 4 points with no inlays in the points. There is a little inlay work around the top of the wrap. Plain ebony butt. I paid $500 for it with 2 shafts (original and predator)

I have been playing with it for the last year or so and I love it.

I believe Billy Schick was somehow involved in making some of the earlier "It's George" cues - not sure though

Kevin,

It's George Cues were made by Mike Roberts out Shreveport, Louisiana in the 1990's. He also was the maker of the It's George cases in the 1980's and 1990's. He was trained and set up by Bill Schick, a well known and respected cue maker.

The retail on your cue was probably originally in the $1000 to $1200 price range. The veneers and ivory inlays make it a fancier model of cue. They are very solid cues. I would say the going used value on yours would be worth in the $600 - $800 price range depending on condition.

Sorry for bringing up an old thread.... Kevin, I was just curious if you bought the cue and if not who was selling it? I used to have a George cue and I loved it.

I'm not Kevin, but I have a good story for you Timberly. I bought an It's George cue from a young man in the south several years ago for about $550. He told me at the time that he didn't want to sell the cue but he needed the money to fix his truck.

I had the cue completley redone and it turned out really beautiful. It needed a refinish, both ferrules needed replacement, the joint needed to be trued, etc etc. These are great cues. They're very solid and the workmanship is second to none.

Anyway, 2 years later, I get an e-mail from him,. He wants to know if I still have "his" cue, and would I sell it back to him. I told him I had to get $800 for it because I had it cherried out. He says, well, I only have $700 thanks anyway. I need another cue like a hole in the head, and I felt sorry for him, so I sold him back the cue for $700.

Anyway, I felt like a pawn broker but that's sometimes how people are about their cues.

There was a local guy that had one but he has since sold it to someone in Reading PA. There was another one on EBAY recently but it was from a seller that hadn't bought or sold anything before so I was a bit leery to buy from him. I still would like to find a nice one with points, veneers and ivory inlays.

Tate, that was very kind of you to sell it back to the guy like you did. I know who had my cue last.... it would take some digging but I could probably still find them. I'm almost afraid to look for them in fear that they've sold it! :(

THAT'S the cue that I had!!! Well, not that particular cue itself. I sent mine off to Bill Schick and he put a steel joint in it..... I LOVED that cue!

He can have it... I want MINE with the steel joint.... either way, if he gets it, he's going to love it... if he doesn't, he needs to just give it someone that will love it. :D

Bid often and bid high. I bid on the same cue a few weeks ago and did not meet the reserve. I contacted him and asked about the reserve and was told 1500.00. Nice cue, just not that nice.
