This is really funny and if you don't get the reference it is really too bad. The Dannys played each other in the World 14.1 tourney and there was some name calling...

I really hope to be able to make it to the match but I don't think I'll be able to and then it would only be the first one. I am supposed to work from 11:30am - 10pm that day.
there weren't too many people around when it happened but I knew some of you NY guys would remember.:grin-square:

Danny "the teacher" Barouty plays pretty good for a city slicker, doesn't he?!?

Mr. Harriman, in his post, has shown his tremendous respect for a great player, which is commendable, regardless of the unfortunate friction in their match which I, like you, saw first hand. The past is history. Why get in the way of the peace process?

Is that what I was doing?? Getting in the way of the peace process?

If you are right and it is the beginning of a peace process that we are witnessing,

I'm sure that nothing one of the bystanders to the "war" said will get in the way of the process.

Yes there is.

I spoke with Bob and he's fairly sure that the matches will be live
streamed.

P.P.View or free I don't know one way or the other we'll have to see.
There's nothing on Pat's web site about it yet.

I was there and yes, I thought it was funny. And I lost! I like DH and so what if he isn't the fastest player on the planet, he's a good guy. By the way, he just finished his last round of the World Open-2006.

Danny,

I knew we would get you here someday. Great straight pool player with a great sense of humor, pretty good combination in my book.

Good luck sunday.

Bill

The end is nigh... Danny Barouty is now officially on the loose on the unfamiliar streets of AZB. Good luck to us all.

leave the computer home!

Get a load of Stephen Lipsky. On vacation, in Paris no less, he takes time out to post a comment. Shouldn't he be out looking for Stephen (all Frenchmen seem to be Stephen) 'Inspector Clueseau' Cohen or a place to buy discount escargots and croissants. No kidding, he's really in Paris. Hope you and Gina are having the time of your lives. Can't wait to hear about the trip.

Welcome to the sight Danny, I look forward to hearing your insights into straight pool. Good luck this weekend.

PS I enjoyed watching you play at the Maryland qualifier this past summer.

Do you think he will be holed up in a hotel room in Paris watching the matches this Sunday?

I don't think that I would be able to get away with it, but ....

Or how about "Mother Goose" vs. Inspector Clouseau...now that would be a heck of match too, wouldn't it? Good to see you out here, Danny!

How long would each match be? I plan to attend the 7 PM match as I can't make the 1 PM match due to prior appointment.

200 point match should take about 2.5 hours

Danny is a very fast player. I've seen him do a game to 150 in about an hour. Once he gets a groove going, he just seems to have a natural flow and doesn't need to stop for much analysis.
Maidhof is no slowpoke either.
I would say 2 hours for a race to 200 might be on the high end for these guys.
