Ivor-X ferrules

One of the other forums are discussing Ivor-X ferrules, are any of you using them? They have been around long enough for there to be some opinions.

Ivor-X has been around for a little more than two years now.
I had the first one installed on my break cue by Kerry Zeiler.
It hits very close to ivory. It is non-porous so it stays clean and easy to clean as well.
It is now a standard ferrule for Zylr cues and Ned Morris cues.
Among the cuemakers who now offer Ivor-X are Jerry Olivier, Skip Weston, Edwin Bandido Reyes ( he made Bustamante's playing shaft with it) JT Custom Cuesand Jer Blackheart.

Ivor-X

Joey, Could you PM me where I could get some of these ferrules. Thanks

There is a difference between offering it and recommending it. Do you know if any use it as their standard ferrule of choice?

Ned Morris uses them exclusively in his cues now.
He still offers buckhorn or ivory but he uses Ivor-X as a standard synthetic ferrule.
There are a few repair men using them now as well.
One repair person ordered 2 hundred plus of them.
You will hear more and more cuemakers and repair people recommending them.

I have ivor-x on my Viattorre cue for almost a year now with no problems whatsoever. It also stays considerably cleaner than other ferrules.

You seem to really like your Viattorre. I'm planning to get one myself.

I've got a Viattorre on order as well. It has been a pleasure dealing with Jack. He's a very busy guy, but always makes the time to answer my stupid questions about minor changes I want to consider.

Who is Viattorre and who is Jack?

Jackson Tan - www.viattorre.com

He's a cue maker out of Quezon City in the Phillipines. I found out about him through www.easypooltutor.com

There's one review of his work there that is essentially a torture test that was done to one of his cues. His prices are very competitive and the reviews of his workmanship indicate very high quality construction of his cues.

I'm still waiting on the cue to perform my own review of the quality, so I don't have first hand experience, but if the reviews of his work are anywhere near accurate I don't think I'll be disappointed.

tHANKS...saw their website. Nice cues.
Is Jackson Tan the cuemaker himself or those two guys with him?
I only saw pictures with the two guys working on cues.
From the way I see it, Jackson is the one who owns the business and his two men are the one who makes the cues. JMO
Please do clarify, thanks!

That's a good question. I assumed that Jackson was the primary cuemaker with the other 2 guys to assist, but never asked him that question.

I'll drop him a note and let you know what he comes back with.
