Anyone know what Brunswick ivory cue balls are selling for. I'm picking some up tomorrow that are chipped and pitted. What would be their value in poor condition with box or without? Thanks in advance for the help. I hope to offer a couple of them on this link if there is interest.

I saw some other threads on ivory balls before. There is someone here that has an unbelievable number of them, so he would know.

Pics will help for sure.

Billiard balls? Cue balls? Color? Size and condition? The bigger and cleaner they are, the more they are going to be worth. Chipped up and cracked cue balls could go as cheap as 30-60 bucks. Billiard balls in bad shape 60 bucks and up. Chips are the killer, lots of cracks but no chips are still worth a fair amount. Really clean billiard balls could go as high as a couple hundred a piece to the right buyer. Post some pics when you get a chance.

I've had a few. PM sent.

Great Info.

Thanks for all the help, will post some pic's when they become available. Was curious if some cue builders bought old, poor condition balls to cut up and use, and if they bought balls by weight or size. Thanks again!

9 Cue Balls

Here they are, 9 to choose from. All have chips out of them, couple are cracked. Don't have any idea what the market is on these. These are all pre-ban African elephant Ivory balls from Brunswick, made in the 20's and 30's, the previous owner told me. There are two of the original boxes and an instruction pamphlet with an enormous amount of information on use and care of the balls as well as history and other details about their manufacture, very informative. Two balls are approximately 2 1/8" and the rest are 2 1/4" approx. When a far value is established, will sell individually or as a lot.

I like the set up you have in the pic, that 9 ball set would make an awesome display just as it is.
Pretty sweet collection of tusk you have there.

Balls

I forgot to ask what you would want for all that is shown in the picture.
Thanks

Price?

There seems to be general agreement these balls have a current market value of about $100 each. Willing to sell the lot for a little less to save on shipping and extra work to ship. I'm selling these for a good friend. He is willing to let everything go for $850 to a buyer of the lot, or $750 for the eight best balls only, and he will keep one ball and the boxes. These will be sold by Thursday, so let me know soon if you have an interest in these.

FYI, shipping ivory in cold temperatures is risky business, especially ivory with existing cracks. The cracks can expand and balls can split. (I've had it happen.) If I were the buyer, I would be asking you to hold on to them for a few weeks and a few degrees. Just my opinion.
