Hello Everyone
Let me begin by reporting that in recent weeks I have completed certifications as a Studio and Field Producer for Rogue Valley Community Television based in Ashland Oregon. As a producer I am assisting on various shows produced by other producers and also producing my own shows for the summer season. Shows are broadcast on the local Public Access Channels and are available online.
I am also working on producing different field documentary projects during the summer. I have 3 ideas that I am pursuing. One of those projects is the following idea:
Since the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Forensics Laboratory is also based in Ashland, Oregon I have the idea of contacting the lab to assist in producing a documentary on Ivory, the Ivory Trade, and its context use in custom cues for the benefit of cue buyers, cue collectors and cue makers. We can discuss science issues relating to Ivory, its identification, types, testing of, use of in its various artistic and cultural forms. And in turn its use in cue making. The current regulations relating to ivory and usage.
The lab is a major player in relation to wildlife crimes of all types. So it has a strong background in Ivory issues. Since my position and location allow me to work on this kind of documentary project I am seeking feedback on the level of interest in thr pool community for this kind of project.
Also I would like to receive feedback from the community here as to the types of questions that they would like to see addressed and answered in this documentary. After all the focus is to address issues relating to the interests of cue buyers, collectors and cue makers.
And since all my efforts as a producer for public access are voluntary, who feel that they could provide some donation support to help cover production costs for the documentary if I were to produce a fundraising page for the project.
That's it. I look forward to heating everyone's feedback.
