I saw Jack White at Central Washington University back in 1985-86. I enjoyed his play and his showmanship, very entertaining. He was playing one of the students and just torturing hi, both in play and verbal wit... lol

I played Jack a few times, I beat him-he beat me. I let him win one to make his show better-I dogged a 8 ball-playing 8ball, he said something funny about me, and no matter what it would have been a good show, but it was better I dogged it, afterwards at his car he said " thanks kid good move" as he knew I dogged it on purpose, like I said not that he needed my help but it was the right move and he gave me credit-I had forgot about that until recently when it popped into my brain, alot of old memories have been doing that recently-HMMM is that a bad sign?
My cousin took me to YSU in 1990 or 91 to watch him put on his exhibition.
I brought my cues along and was hoping he would pick me out of the crowd to play a game or two with him.
I remember somebody heckleing him in the crowd and he said " Be quiet kid or I will buy where you live and make you move " LOL ! He was awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He picked me to play a set with him and I played so good that it took him by surprise. As I was running out and got down to shoot the 8-Ball he would say that I had to bank it ! WTF I said to myself and he just laughed as I missed the bank and then he ran out !
I never understood that I wasn't supposed to upstage a Pro while he is being paid to do an exhibition until I became that Pro and someone tried to do that to me . I get it now ! LOL
I wonder if he knows who I am and how he inspired me to be the Pro that I am today ?

I played Jack White at the end of one of his exhibitions at Texas A&M in the early 80s. Best 2 of 3 8-ball and I won. The next day, I sat in his exhibition and someone asked him if he found anyone that was good at pool and he pointed me out of the crowd. (not exactly a major tournament win, but I will take what I can get.)
I recall Jack had a Balabuska cue he played with and was had a very enjoyable show.
He is a three (3) years in a row collegiate champion.

robertno1pool...Jack always SAID that his cue was a Balabushka. It was not. It was an old Rich cue. Jack never attended college, so he was never a collegiate champion either. I'm not knocking Jack, but these things are true.

In the 70's Jack played with a top-o-the-line Palmer.
When I bought his book it came with a coupon for a discounted Palmer, and I passed on the opportunity.

While it's true, that Jack did own both a black and a brown (1 ebony & 1 rosewood...which I bought from Jack, when I purchased his tour) high end Palmer, he played more often with the Rich (always commenting about it being a Balabushka)! He did sell a lot of Palmer cues (mostly in the late 60's through the 70's), and was good friends with the Balner family. Odd about that coupon, as the book came out in the early 80's, when Palmer Cues was winding down. I don't remember a coupon in my book (I got one of the first copies off the press).
