Jacksonville Tournament Scene

Just moved to Jax. I'm looking for the scoop on weekly tournaments. I have heard that there is a pretty nice Sunday tournament at Bank Shots. Time? Entry? etc. Also interested in other tournaments within an hour or so of Jax. Thanks.

Also, the last time I was in town for a bit someone who said they play at University Billiards asked me if I gamble. He said he plays 1 pocket. Is University Billiards the spot for 1p?

drive down to palatka on monday nights.. DJ's billiards monday 9 ball 5 winners/3 losers and thursdays 8 ball race 3/2.
 
I'm always up for a good game. I live in palatka outside of jax. Not much of a 1 pocket player but love all rotation games. Bankshot's tourney is really strong they just started playing on satudays too. Seminole pro tour is there next week.
 
Forgot to mention in orange park about 15 mons away you've got a park avenue tourney on Tuesday and orange park Billiards on thursday and Saturday afternoon.

Thanks Bobby Chamberlain. This message is way out of line. I would think a 'professional' pool player would have more class. Use your bankroll to go buy some. And what makes me a nit? Because I commented that I don't think you would beat Sigel in straight pool? So basically you're going to tell people I'm a nit because you don't like me. Cool. Actually, go buy some real self confidence because your insecurity is really pathetic.

You have issues. Tell them whatever you would like. And whenever anyone brings your name up, I will certainly give them the scoop on you. I can't believe that a guy who doesn't gamble called me a nit. You're funny.

Uneducated? I'll post up on that one. What would you like to bet that I am more educated than you? I work and make a good living. I don't need pool, I just enjoy it. So your woofing isn't going to work with me.

ok I now only want you to answer a couple of questions.Can you simply answer them without any trash talking.Its a simple 4 question survey.


1)Can we play some sets any game of your choosing.

2)please post any games that you have bet over $500

3)let me know your bankroll so I know whether to bring a roll of hundred dollar bills or just a couple rolls of quarters.

I don't know either of you. However, the original poster's picture looks a bit familiar. In any case, man if I was wrldpro's sponsor, I'd run. What a total ass. Hilarious that he says "I don't know you", but then goes on to give a characterization anyway. Really showing off that eduacation. Ha ha!!

This thread made me straight laugh out loud.

As far as i know Bobby is a pretty good guy that has a ton of heart and is willing to play anybody if the game is right.

Sorry Joey but the next time you come to Alexandria let me know we can play for whatever you want. I do have a few rolls of nickels if thats what it takes to get you to the table :lol:
 
Also heard a rumor you were scouting me out while you were here in Alexandria. Funny but i never recall a red headed player named Joey Ryan.

When I lived there, Bank Shots had a nice little $10 tourney on Sundays around 1pm.....played on 9 footers, nice atmosphere, the chicken salad was amazing, the players were strong, and the waitresses had short skirts.....I'm guessing that if you chat up some people, you should have no problems getting a game....

University Billards.....fun place, good crowd, usually there is always a little gamble going on there.....mostly it was small stakes, but you gotta start somewhere.....

I enjoyed playing at both of them, and depending on the day, you could see some high level play at both....
