Jacoby or Jerico Stinger better for jump

Jacoby, Stinger, or Mezz jump cue is the best ?

Has anyone ever used both of them ? How are they compared ? Which one is easier to jump a ball ? I tried the Stinger J/B and I like it, but never compared with Jacoby. Need info of Jacoby vs Stinger before purchase.

I used a dart stroke for jump. Also, if anyone compared any of them with Mezz jump cue (air shooter or air drive), please also give any information.

I tried the Predator air and Stealth jump but they do not fit my style (I prefer Lucasi jump cue).


Thanks for any info.


PS: Please respond to pool if you had tried at least two of the options (not compared to other jump cues).

I have not used the Stinger before but I can tell you about the Jacoby. I got one from Koinkid on here a while back with a G10 tip. I can easily dart stroke over a single ball width, (just under 3/4 ball is my personal best, although I have read people doing a chalk width with it). I can also easily use the pendulum stroke and jump half a table with it. I can also apply english on both styles of jumps. A friend of mine liked it so much he now has one and several others I have let try it say its very easy to jump with.

I have a non-G10 Jacoby and a Stinger j/b. For all game situations, I've never had to pull out a dedicated jump cue. If I did, the Jacoby isn't my favorite either. I don't usually use a dart stroke in game situations, but the notch in the Jacoby is nice for that. I haven't tried the Mezz, so I can't comment on that.
 
I have a mace for both and a stinger I carry for tight jumps......the stinger jumps better than any jump cue I have ever felt.

Same here Marissa I really like the Jacoby Jumper . I use the dart stroke on close shots and the pendulum stroke on longer shots .

I would have to ask if you are using it on a bar box or not with the heavy ball? I have tried everything out there and for my money i would say Jocoby is the best ever. I use the dart stroke and can jump as close as anyone but that's not what matters. Try both and you will have to decide for yourself buy if you use it on a bar box you will see how easy the Jocoby will work for the heavy ball. Anything will work with the light ball. (IMO) Good luck

Hey Randy, I would have to argue that there are jump cues that are definitely easier to work with than others. Some of it depends on the shot (how far away the blocker ball is, how quickly the CB must get up and down, etc), but for a given Indian, certain Arrows take less stroke adjustment. For example, I had a difficult time with the Predator Air and the Lucasi Air Hog, both getting the CB air bound and controlling it, but other people swear by them.
 
Get the Jacoby and the Stinger ........... try them both out and let us all know what you think. I'm sure you can sell the one you don't go with as they are both popular. I personally voted for and use the Jacoby but I haven't tried the Stinger yet. Good luck.

I have the Jacoby and it has worked well for me. Before that I had a J&K J/B which also worked well. Recently, however, if haven't been able to "get air" I realize that I'm hitting too low on the cue ball and likely snapping my wrist too much instead of "driving through the ball."
 
I've got a Stinger (on my second, actually; first was stolen a year ago) and I'm quite happy with it. Now me, I'm not the best jumper to start with - I'm getting better - and it jumps fine for me. Other folks who I've let try it have had good things to say.

But like others have said, get both in your hands (if possible) and decide for yourself.

that's the nuts right there. i have tried predator air, stinger, gulyassy and a lomax. and the lomax was the easiest to jump and impart english with. it's my next purchase for sure.
 
I have both and prefer the Stinger I use the dart method and when can concentrating can jump over from 3/4 inch with good control also an real good hitting break cue.Mine is the original from Jerico cues.
 
The j&j, I believe it is, Jump cue is the best for the little cash. You can get one new for $30 online.

Conclusion

Well, tried both and I think that they are both almost the same. Probably Jacoby a little easier to jump, but Stinger is a little easier to control (since the tip is probably 0.25mm larger).

I also think that Stinger is a little bit lighter.

PM me if you need more detail review of this following jump cue that I ever tried: Elite, Fury, Mezz Air Shooter, Stinger, Jacoby, Lucasi (wood), J&J, Scorpion, Lucasi Hybrid, Predator air, Bungee, Stealth, Magic, Cuetec, and Jester.


I will try the Mezz Air Drive and Lomax jump cue for the next.
