Anybody know what James is up to these days. I know a couple of weeks ago after a 7 month layoff. He placed 2nd in a tournament at Fast Eddies in Lubbock, TX placing behind James Bastrop from Austin. I didn't know if we have any members from the tulsa and okc area that keeps up with walden??

James was in Lubbock and did finish 2nd. He looked a bit rusty, but not all the way out of it.

Fast Eddies has an event this weekend in College Station and James might be there. He is on my list of those to call today.

Saw him in Reno a couple of weeks ago. Placed 4th or 5th in the bar table table tourny there.

James hasn't been up here in Wichita for awhile. He comes up now and then for a weekend up here, usually with Caleb Moore (an under the radar player).

Caleb can put some balls down and wastes no time doing it either.

ahhh... Caleb Moore! i've played him a couple of times losing head up and beating him in some scotch doubles. Of course he was a better player than me and always will be. I haven' heard about him in some time. I heard he was run over several years ago and barely survived. I remember him getting the 8 from Gabe Owen several years ago and beating him out of about 6,000 large.

Lady I saw James was in March of 2006 when the Hunter Classics Tour had an event in Tulsa at Magoo's. Toni played in the event so he was watching. The Hunter Classics Tour will be at Magoo's again, this time March 31-April 1 (in about two weeks). I'll see if he is there again.

He finished 5-6th in the 9-ball, out of 144 players.

I saw James in Reno, and he was shooting fine. He had a couple tough matches in the 9 ball event that he shoulda won (both hill-hill). I used to play with James in OKC a while back. He is a damn fine player and a pretty stand up guy.

I used to play with Caleb Moore also. First time I ever played him, we were both drunk at Lumpy's on Northwest Expressway, and I approached his table (having seen him whip like 5 guys in a row for $20 a game) and asked to play. We traded punches for literally three hours with everyone watching. He used to shoot at the Don Quixote's tourney on Sundays that I would play in. He was always a good match for me.

Caleb is an old running buddy of Gabe's, that is how I met him in the first place. Gabe does come back to his 'real roots' every now and then (His Dad, Bob, and his Mom, Kathy [40 miles from here] are here).

Caleb could play just a little when I met him, and he went up ball wise a lot after hanging with Gabe, and down around Tulsa. Yeah, he doesn't lose any time getting the balls off the table.

Caleb did get hit on the highway by a car doing about 60 mph, and was hurt pretty seriously, but made a real good recovery. It was a miracle he wasn't killed. His car was stopped along the side of the highway, and a passing car clipped him. Caleb, James, and Gabe are all fun guys to be around, and have some good stories.

Ask Caleb to tell you his Oklahoma $8,000 story, about getting robbed.

And I was the one that told James about the IPT, and convinced him to enter a qualifier, which he did down in Tulsa.

By the same token, ask gabe ownen and scott frost about when they were robbed in houston. Not playing 9 ball but with guns. Some guy was steering them around and said lets go to this side of town and get action. Next thing they know they were held up by a couple of heisters.
