Here is a brand new Esoteric Fancy Playing Cue I just recently delivered. A matching Jump Cue he added is almost done.

40 days in the finish process procedure alone. I love when a customer is not impatient and lets me do the finish process over a long period of time to do the job right. It really makes the difference.

This cue is Jan's Cue. As with most of my custom cue customer's, he was instrumental in this cues design and I worked with him keeping things proper concerning certain attributes and geometry proportions.

12 point forearm - 12 point Butt - 6 point handle

Honey Stained Madrone Burl & Ebony & over 100 compounded inlays of ebony and reconstituted abalone material.

18.8 and 18.9 oz.

Ugly Heavy Maple Shafts from Iron Mt Michigan culled in 2009 and seasoned till 2015

These shafts are my modern pro taper shaft contour and are 13MM with moori tips. This shaft pro taper is designed to pull flesh in a closed bridge and is very stiff. Jan has a shorter stroke and milks the cow when he hits the ball so this is his desired taper.

Shaft 1 - 4.2 oz
shaft 2 - 4.3 oz

This is Jan's third Esoteric Custom but the first one he commissioned and took an active part in the design attributes. From napkin to computer screen to inlays coming to life. That smile on Jan's face after he saw the inlays for the first time is what keeps me motivated.

He had so much fun he is now designing # 4. I love working with people to make their designs come to life for them. Happy Happy Joy Joy. The rat race is just a fleeting memory.

I was very fortunate to watch the evolution of this beautiful cue. From Jan's wish to include abalone and Rick's artistic and intricate design this cue evolved into this beauty. The best part was seeing Jan's smile and excitement when he visited the shop every Sunday.

Wow Killer Cue...

Wow very nice cue indeed, super build Rick. Esoteric cues are some of the best playing cues around. Congrats to the new owner of this beauty.:thumbup2::thumbup2:
