I think i have her 1st name right? Wow i got to see her action at the Las Vegas womens finals against Allison Fisher. I think for the 1st time i seen Allison get some nerves playing this 20 year old phenom. This was the 1st time i have watched her play but she was AWSOME!! Anyone got any stories about her?
 
Yeah, her name is Jasmine Ouschan, I saw her play when she was 16 yrs old (she is around 20 now)...she played jam up then. I think once she gets a little more seasoning on the pro circuit....she will be a major contender.

She plays with the men on the Eurpean circut for the most parts.

Out of the top sixteen shooters left when I saw her at the Stright Pool World championships this year in New Jersey, her stroke, to me, live in person, was the most fluid and natural of the shooters I saw. Really stood out.

I thought Ga-Young Kim was the most impressive young female player i'd seen until I got to see Jasmin play on ESPN. At her young age I predict she will be the top female player in the world very soon. One thing that doesn't make sense to me is Jasmin beat the top WPBA players in LV and won the tournament, but the WPBA rules won't allow her to play in their tournaments unless she plays in qualifiers! Does this make any sense at all.

Its not like it'd be that hard for her to snap off a qualifier.;)

I thought I was the only one who was amazed by her cueing! It really is a thing of beauty her stroke; to me now she's up there with earl as the most beautiful/inspiring players to watch. I'd already seen her win over Allison in the enjoypool.com finals, but it was when i watched the video of her playing Thorsten in the recent 14.1 event i was gobsmacked! a real talent, and good luck to her.

IIRC, in the EnjoyPool.com Championship (formerly the BCA Open) in Las Vegas, Jasmin defeated each of the top 5 ranked players, in the WPBA, on her way to winning that tournament. Just how much more seasonging will she need, before you consider her a major contender? :confused:

The truth is, if and when Jasmin starts playing on the WPBA tour full time, she will be a major contender to win any tournament.

Her name is Jasmin, not Jasmine.

Right now she is playing the All Japan 9-ball Championship. Anyone got a link, can't find it...

She's played a couple of tournaments here in Oslo since we opened ElbowRoom last year, and I believe she is the best female player, without a doubt.

Last weekend or so she played the Austrian Women Championships, and won them all, 9-ball, 8-ball and the 14-1 division. In the 14-1 division she started with a 100 break to win her first match 100 - 13, after she opened badly and left a ball for the opponent...

This accomplishment is without equal in the thirty one years that I have followed women's pro pool. The last time a young player pulled off something like this, in my opinion, was when Jean Balukas beat then-dominant Dorothy Wise in the final of the (1972?) US Open Straight Pool Championship.

Jasmin won in her third ever WPBA event. Allison Fisher, of course, won in her second ever WPBA event. It will be exciting to watch the continued emergence of Ouschan.

Most of her history is in Europe of course of which i know little other than she has been competitive in women's events since 10 y.o. if not before.

She came to the USA when she was 15 and played in the National Amateurs which she won defeating Jeannie Seaver in the finals. Not too far from that time she entered her first WPBA event which was held at the Miccosukee Slot machine Haven in or around Miami. In her first round she encountered Debbie Schjodt and it went Hill/hill with Jasmine pulling out the victory- She went on to finish 5th.

Recently she has been competing against the men in Europe doing well and won an IPT spot for Reno. She probably will be receiving 11% of her winnings shortly.

I hear she isn't allowed to play on the wpba. Anyone know why that would be?

No one can just pay up and play in the WPBA- You have to win a qualifier. Been that way since Allison. I think they should make an exception when a player wins an event such as the BCA or another WPBA event but they dont.

She has won several qualifiers to my understanding. There is a photo with her in front of a trophy that says so on myracurfs reply.

No, that is not true, she already has, and recently won a Q'er in Canada, for a 2007 event. The problem with the Vegas event, is that it is not a WPBA event and Jasmin did not join the WPBA before she played in it (she would have been required to had it been). Had she paid her membership fee she would have been awarded points for her win and most likely with that one win would have jumped into the top 32. That may have been enough to garner her invites to other events...

I have heard that there was a time when her father and or coach did not want her to play women on a regular bacsis. Maybe that is what your thinking of... I think her stop in Canada to win that Q'er shows her intent to make her mark on the WPBA in 2007.
