Jason sword interview

For any that doesn't know Jason sword is Fedor's "business partner"/ backer whatever. He appeared on the doggin It podcast and was asked what's the deal with the fedor v filler match.

I'll take him as a representative of Fedor. He goes on the claim filler is the best 9ball player of all time. Seconds later, goes on about filler soft breaking at Derby and Fred would never cheat the game by doing such. Then it's fedor wants to play 10 ball, filler wants to play 9ball. He suggested maybe Fedor plays Shane again. Enough blah blah blah. These guys are supposed to be the top 5, top 1-2 however you want to list them

They' re scared to play each other, or scared to be embarrassed it's a joke. I didn't see earl, or busty, Efren ducking anyone in mega matches.

I do wish they would play.

Heck, they may be the best two one pocket players. I know there are a bunch of one pocket players groaning at this statement, but it would be hard for me to bet against either one of them against your favorite one-pocket hero. I don't really believe that if Fedor spent some time learning Josh's "soft break" that he couldn't do it nearly as well.

In a long rotation race, Fedor's jumping will show up to his benefit. Both players bank great, pocket balls great, and make decent decisions with safety play. The break, whatever it is, may determine the match...which is why they should play one pocket.

I'm sure ducking is nothing new.

The way he coddles Fedor is very strange. I understand being his manager and all, but he's on another level.

Fedor has a better 10ball break so of course he would want an edge over Filler. It would be nice to hear these things come out of Fedor's mouth directly, instead of him trying to be a spokesperson for Fedor. He sounds like a diva.

No one wants to watch a long race 9ball money match where there will be slop everywhere. Filler should be jumping up out of his seat to play 10ball, he's the best player on the planet. But we will never know the real side of his perspective because it's coming from a 3rd party.

I kind of don't want to see Fedor vs SVB for the 3rd time, it's gotten stale.

I much prefer hearing from the players themselves as opposed to their manager/backer. Bro thinks he's a celebrity 😂

No one wants part 3. Who else will step up besides svb
 
I listened to the interview, and Jason Sword was describing a new way of checking the speed of a break.

At the 2003 Open, they used a speed gun. Anybody who made the 9 on the break would receive $500. I had breakfast with Carmine Sardo and asked him about break speed. He said the best break speed is between 18 and 21 mph. That's the world according to Carmine Sardo.

The bird break was prevalent at the 2007 WPA World Pool Championship in Philippines. Everybody was doing it. Pool grapevine says Corey Deuel is the one who first started doing it. Daryl Peach won in 2007.

After this event, a rule was established that 3 balls must past the side pocket to be a legitimate break.

I'm not sure what the answer is about break speeds today and racking apparatuses and speed checkers. It will be interesting to see how this develops.

The Sword brothers are good guys from my experience with them many years ago. Not sure about that article. I did interviews with Jason and Alan when they were involved with the Frost and Orcollo match. You can watch it here.
