If I understand it correctly, BB found someone local who volunteered his spot.

How much more responsibility does a player need to do after he/she already confirmed his spot with the owner? 1 time, 2 times, 5 times???

in addition to BB being void of integrity, a liability to the growth of pool he is also a schmuck of epic proportions....and those are his good points

if A sr was aware of the strings BB pulled to facilitate an opening for him to play in the event he exercised poor judgement by playing

still waiting for A jr's response with regards to what he would have done if he were in J's shoes

Now you're just assuming that the US Open is for sale. It's not, because there are several people I know who would buy the rights. And if that should ever happen, why would BB ever be invited back, in any capacity? After all, anyone who buys it would do their level best to erase his name, everywhere it comes up in those history books.

LOL, I understand that but was just trying to make a point.

Bottom line Jay did the correct thing, remove himself from this situation it was wrong in so many ways.
Just another Black eye on the US OPEN. It's no wonder pool may never evolve in the right direction.

As as business model, the US Open is a losing proposition. It is almost impossible to turn the US Open into a profitable business.

I feel that the US Open is nothing more than a playtoy for BB to have his fun, in which he loses quite a bit of money.

I want to clear up this one thing. Pat Fleming did collect all the PAID entries into the tournament and Barry was responsible for providing him with the list of FREE entries, who were all past champions. Barry is the one who dropped the ball here, failing to add Allen Hopkins name to the list. Allen is not at fault for thinking he was in, other than knowing how scatter brained Barry is, he should have checked to make sure.

Shame on all of us for depending on Barry to get something right! Barry is a disaster waiting to happen. He was so inebriated on the first day of the tournament that he actually fell out of the grandstands! With a loud crash I might add.

I apologize for my responsibility in trusting that somehow this U.S. Open would be different from the others. Last year Barry pretty much left me alone to run the event and it went well, except for the part where Barry had to pay everyone. This year we had Pat Fleming handling the money. What could go wrong? Barry had to find a way to fuc' it up and he did.
 
Allen did say he would respond so?

1. How do you feel about the people on the waitng list you bypassed?

2. Is it ok that you or barry paid a player to take his spot?

3. You never checked the list: before leaving home, when you got there, or at the players meeting/ draw?

4. You agree with Jay yet still played, why?

5. Would you have been ok with what has transpired at the S.B.E.?
