JB case just ordered

Your right cause buying a JB case is ground breaking news should not be compared with such things as taking out the trash ,, I bought a new trolling combo ,, stand up sea striker rod , okuma 30 lever drag spooled with 200yrds 30 lb Berkley big game topped 100 yds 60 lb suffix braid ,, and 30 feet of 100lb suffix leader just in case I get a big biter on

I prefer the Shimano Tekota or the Tiagra myself. Much smoother drag...

I'm trying to decide if I should put my Cortland Dacron on my reel or a cue like Ray Martin. Oh yeah, love both my 4x8 ultimate rugged and butterfly. Best case for the money IMHO. Thanks John for a great product.

seriously are 95% of pool players just miserable, negative scumbags? there is not a thread on this forum were a poster doesn't put down the OP and people wonder why the game gets such a bad rap. I'm glad I play in an area where people actually enjoy the game and have good attitudes about the game

I suspect the dislikers of the OP, is more to do with products principle. If it was someone else, I doubt the dislikers would bother.

Should people be filling up the forums with endless announcements of what pool products they order?

Should I have made a post letting everyone know that I recently ordered two new scuffers?

Oh.....and last week when I got five new Triangle tips, darn I could have made a separate post about that.

How about every member make a new post every time we order some chalk?

Or is there perhaps a price limit as to when someone should make their pool related purchase announcements?
Maybe it's only OK for cues and cases but why stop there?

I went out to the Billiard Shop / cheapcues.com yesterday. I got my balls polished, then I came home and took a nap.

Dont let casemaker politics bother you..... they are all a bunch of *****s.......

Just kidding...... thank Jesus.......

Simply giving us a weather report is not what I would start a thread over.

Hey, that's your choice; feel free not to post what you think you shouldn't post about. Personally, I don't think you should be posting this opinion. But that's just my opinion - it's amazing how many are out there.

He started a thread about buying a cue case from a named case maker on a billiard forum. That's on topic in my opinion. It started discussion (because, oh my God, this is a forum after all) and the discussion remained civil. I see nothing wrong with it.

Feel free to post pics of your new suits ... just hold a cue in the pictures to keep it on topic! :)

Probably not, but it's one guy, not an epidemic. Go hit some balls.

Definitely put it on the cue! It'll give it some character. Its amazing how far technology has come with all the braids and fluorocarbons while I prefer my cue to be as old school as possible. Just a leather wrap and an old le pro tip. Same as when I started playing 35 years ago.

Checked the available forums this morning. Couldn't find one expressly devoted to new purchases.

Perhaps I should have not posted when I received my JB custom butterfly 4x8. The incredible work Proficient Billiards did refinishing my Schon 6 windows would not have helped several other posters on this forum. The extension Brandon Jacoby installed on my break cue butt might only have helped me not the others who followed my lead.

Come on 9Ballr, did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed? Drink caffeinated coffee instead of decaf? What's next? Barring anyone not from Texas from posting on AZ? Chill dude!

Great.
I just ordered a new chess book on Amazon.
It's on endgame by Dvoretsky. Supposed to be pretty good.
I have lots of other endgame books but this is kinda like the endgame Bible.
I've heard it's good for players rated 2400 and up. I'm 2586 USCF so it'll be
very beneficial.
Hope it'll be here soon.

Here's a link in case you're interested:

Soooo.....2586 rating makes you a grand master....
.....do you think your post was a good move?

DANG! :eek:So much for my Pandolfini and Capablanca - no wonder I'm still not a master! Fav Chess book in my library - Reshevsky's Art of Positional Play.

Anyway - I will probably also get a JB Case in the fairly near future and I will try to restrain myself from posting - especially if I'm near any old bridges...
My problem is that I want to spend less - I don't fly mine around, I just drive - seems overkill to spend $200 vs. $75 (actual prices for cases being considered). Furthermore, if I went with JB, I'd probably end up spending even more for nice leather, vs. being content with cheap. Right now I only have 1x cases, and need a 3x...

The guiding principles for AZ Billiards should be, promoting pool, instead some posters would rather piss on someone's cereal rather than bypass something they don't agree with.

Promoting pool should include sharing information about new products, services and experiences.

The worst thing that happened to AZ Billiards is the proliferation of sub forums to which very few go to. NPR excepted.

Some people just want to be the hall monitor and there just isn't the need for that, ESPECIALLY when it is a new member. New members can be wised up over time or in Private Messages by members who actually care about making this a better place.

Allot of use have a corner in the closet with several worn out mass produced production pool cue cases..
Buying a new mass produced production cue case isn't that big of deal......

I agree, but some people would just spam the main forum like it was their own private infomercial channel. Know what i mean?

I ordered a JB case 2 weeks ago and forgot to post about it. Guess I'll just post some pictures when it arrives.

John,

There will always be posters who will attempt to hijack this forum. I'd prefer to allow every post then allow other posters to "regulate" the forum. Of course that's in a perfect world. As we do not live in one, we have moderators to do the job. Censorship is the easy way out. Remember, the OP stated he ha just made a purchase of a pool related item. Seems OK to me.
