JB case just ordered

Muzzles

Veteran68,

Common courtesy eh? That would go a long way, I'm sure.

I assure you that your perspective is shared by the vast majority of people who read these forums. Most of us don't have time to respond to the small-minded little people with the big voices (you know who you are). Nor, do we wish to engage dialogue with them.

It is a sad situation here on AZB when a few bad apples ruin the forum's experience for others. If I were the management, I would just permanently ban all of the trouble makers. (Everyone knows who they are). It is beyond my understanding as to why these trouble-makers are only temporarily banned every now and then.

A muzzle controls the trouble-makers only so long as it is applied.

So don't worry Veteran68, you haven't alienated yourself from any of the posters that truly care about pool and this forum.

JoeyA

I'm probably going to alienate myself here with this, but what the hell, I'm wearing my flame-retardant under-roos today...

I've had an account here for 3 years, and had another account years before that but forgot it, so created a new one. I *was* very active on the old CCB. While I've been virtually silent here until very recently, I've been an active member of, and an admin or moderator of, a LOT of forums over the last couple of decades, everything from billiards to marketing to gaming to IT to poker. It's not at ALL uncommon for people to post "I just did X" or "I just bought Y." It happens like nearly every day on a busy forum. I don't understand the need to criticize the OP here -- as some others have said, if it doesn't interest you, don't read it. To be snarky to the OP here is a sure-fire way to turn off new members, and at many of the forums I ran or belonged to, was behavior worthy of a stern warning and a ban for continued offense.I thought young gamer geeks were bad with their elitist attitudes, but frankly I'm seeing some presumably much older folks here giving them a run for their money.

And another thing that simultaneously amuses and frustrates me. There is no such thing as "freedom of speech" in a private setting, such as a privately owned forum, a club, a private sector employer, etc. That people often bring it up in situations like this always boggles my mind. The Constitution and Bill of Rights doesn't apply to AzBilliards or any other privately-owned venue. Common courtesy should, however.

Nick, my sleep pattern is all FKed up lately. I haven't been to sleep yet. I just had
Potato Skins with Salsa and Sour Cream for breakfast.

Gonna go to the shop and tie a few Flies before my head hits the pillow.

Before I do that, I might order 10 JB Rugged Cases to hold all the new Szams and Searings that I am expecting within the next week or so.

Likely go to Wal Mart later and buy a couple pair of Wrangler Jeans. Maybe have Cabbage Rolls for supper.

I could get a cheap afternoon West Jet to Van if'n yer bored and want to play a few. Pick me up at the Port and we're on for the day.

Anytime brother. This whole thread has gotten out of line.

You want to permanently ban John Barton?

You can give an order for a JB case....
...but don't ever try to give JB orders....
No how, no way....:outtahere:

You're right as usual Lyn.

New members and shy posters look at threads like this and have to say to themselves, "Why bother?"

The constant bickering, back-biting and ad hominem attacks send those potential posters packing back to where they came from.

A friendlier response to new posters who didn't come here with alligator hides would go along way to making pool and AZB more popular.

I think some posters either don't really care about pool or AZB, being more popular or they think that their mean-spirited responses are witty ways in which to communicate.

JoeyA

How much did a competitive case maker pay you to post this sheit  ? Just wondering .

Trob, it's just plain wrong. Your post is exactly what I find wrong with AZ these days. Even a new member who shows some excitement for our game can't express it with out a negative comment. Just plain sad.

Yeah, the constant indirect attacks get old, i agree. Who wants to deal with that kind of passive-aggressive school kid stuff? Some people think that adding colors make their posts cool, a la English!. Then others want to be hall monitors and let their friends get a pass.

Some don't even care enough about azb to kick them a few bucks here or there.

I am the OP! 1700 views and 53 responses! I had no idea I would be so popular! Thanks to all who stuck up for me without even knowing me, seems to be many more than who reprimanded me, but it's all good. I've been around the block a few times but sometimes this whole social media/internet thing escapes me. I am a handshake and a face to face guy for the most part. I posted a "pool" related comment on a "pool" forum about a "pool" product I purchased. I was excited! Mostly I wanted to tell of the excellent service I had just received on a Saturday morning and got a person (Karen) to go to the "shop" and check the inventory and then ship a case literally 10 minutes later, since I needed it asap, I appreciated the customer service! But I thought I should give a little background first.
Again, I appreciate ALL the comments. I JUST spent spent 8 hours today playing 8 ball, 9 ball and 14.1 with my son and son in law. And I am taking 4 young men to a Scotch doubles 8 ball tourney on Saturday that is 2 1/2 hours drive away (to help promote the game).......and yes, it will cost me some, i will buy the gas, food, beer and all else but... Life is good. Thanks all.

First off, I would like to say welcome!

Second, There is alot of stuff and "History" that you would need to know in order to better understand "Why" your post garnered the response it got. Some members of the forum abuse the website and engage in forms of "gorilla advertising" on the site and clutter it up with "intentional" bickering and nonsense to advertise their products with total disregard for the members. It is a way to have their "name" and "products name appear" endlessly to the 55,150 registered members and thousands of visitors each day.

Sadly, it is about business and money for some and others it is informative and a social tool for people with a love of billiards.

Third, the clicks or groups of members exist and it only took me almost a decade to realize this point. No matter how correct or right you may be, some will be on the outside looking in. There is alot of stuff I don't agree with around here and I am available via PM to elaborate.

I hope this better explains the response your post garnered.

Sincerely,
KD

You are completely correct. I am brand new here. I have been a member for less than a week. Also I am new to pool been playing for less than 3 months. I would consider myself relatively shy even.

It is a huge turn off to see how many people get attacked for the stupidest stuff. There have been multiple threads I want to comment or ask a question but don't feel it's worth it for the smart answers I will receive or the people wondering why am I wasting their time forcing them to read my Stupid questions.

What I woul like to know since I am new is. Are you people giving the op such a hard time that big of a dick in person? Like if this guy was at a pool hall and standing with you and a group of people and mentioned he ordered a case and about the customer service, would you jump on him for it? Would you start riding him and telling him about useless stuff like you bought two skirts at the mall today or some fishing lures made of tampons?

Sorry if you are wasting your time reading my post.

Really sad to see you get harpooned by some of this forums members. Not all are like that. I've been around since the very early days. My participation has shrunk as the words get nastier. If you love the game, just play. If you buy new equipment please let us know. Don't stop participating because of a few egomaniacs. This is a pool forum. I rue the day AZ added sub-forums. Seems there is never enough of them now. Finally, I've been fortunate enough to meet many of the folks behind the screen names. Haven't met one I didn't like. This really is a great forum. Just grow a second layer of skin (I've taken my own advice).

Lyn

What you should do is write the OWNER of AZ BILLIARDS. Give him a link to this thread and let him know your perspective. I assure you, he values your opinion FAR MORE than any of the people in this thread who attack people for nothing more than their own sense of perverted sport.

You can PM (private Message) the owner. If you don't know how to private message just yet, let me know in this thread and I will provide you with the instructions if you are so inclined.

His screen name is : AzHousePro

I think your private message to him would motivate him to see how new members are turned off from posting because of few bad apples.

JoeyA

The multiple sub-forums has been a mistake for AZB for the most part.

I agree with you also about the second layer of skin. :D

I suspect the dislikers of the OP, is more to do with products principle. If it was someone else, I doubt the dislikers would bother.

That's my thoughts.

If it was some other product then there would nothing but praise and attaboys.

I have never trolled this forum to intentionally cause bickering as a form of guerilla marketing.

But I am quite happy to see that even when I am not around the trolls make it a point to continue to advertise for me by bumping threads about our cases with their endless negativity.

Thank you trolls. Your check is in the mail.

And yes, I know I owe you a lid thing Mike I will get Karen on it this week.

Here'd the conversation as I see it...

jb.. Hey I'll give you $50 off if you get on az and pretend like you have no idea about my ignorance and rudeness on the forum and give me a glowing review!

buyer..okie dokie

sounds about right lol

Nah, I don't need to pay customers to say nice things. They do that on their own and the trolls keep threads going for free. Best marketing ever.

Thank you. Karen spoke very highly of you and was excited to make the deal. She was very proud of closing the deal with you and very happy to hear that you are happy with our case.

That's funny!

I am new here so don't know all the politics about case manufacturers and don't really care. I am not a case snob by any means, I just want function over anything else. So today I via the phone I ordered a JB ultimate rugged 3x6 case. I needed a new case right away and liked the features of the case. All the dealers I found online were out of stock of the JB cases. So I paid a little bit more directly than what the dealers were advertising them for. I had to get something that was in stock because I passed my old case down to my son and I have a tourney next weekend. I should get it next week and hopefully I will like it. I don't want to have to buy another case for many years. I want to thank Karen (?) for her help on the emails, phone calls and getting it shipped right out.

Karen and I both say thank you for choosing our cases.

Enjoy your new case. I was not a fan of JB cases but decided to try one after reading so many positive reviews. So I bought a 2/5 Rugged. Like it so much I'm looking to buy a Rugged 3/6 or 4/8. Also have Jay Flowers 2/4 by JB.

Thank you!!!!!

I'm trying to decide if I should put my Cortland Dacron on my reel or a cue like Ray Martin. Oh yeah, love both my 4x8 ultimate rugged and butterfly. Best case for the money IMHO. Thanks John for a great product.

:-) You're welcome.

Sixwillwin,
Welcome to the forum.

Don't sweat anyone whining about your post. Your thread isn't so bad. Personally, I LIKE IT.
:D

JB Cases are awesome.

JoeyA

Thanks Joey, you always have my six.

You'll be happy, it's the best case for the money.
You picked a very strong case with a rock solid warranty.

Enjoy.
Rob.M

Thank you Rob. Check is in the mail. ;-)

six your thread is fine....it reminds me of how cool it was when I received my custom Rugged from JB. John even called me on the phone to make sure it arrived and that I liked it."

Something tells me breakfast was Cheerios and pi$$.

Welcome to the forum and let us know how the case is!

Appreciate it. Now where's my cool little cue? :-)

If the products principle didn't have a habit of shameless advertising and astroturfing then people might not roll their eyes as often as they do.

Can you write this in English? What's astroturfing? Shameless advertising??? Oh I am hurt.....how did you all survive an entire year without me around.

Welcome! Great choice in a case!

Don't let the idiots ruin your experience here.
Jason

:-) Good post.

seriously are 95% of pool players just miserable, negative scumbags? there is not a thread on this forum were a poster doesn't put down the OP and people wonder why the game gets such a bad rap. I'm glad I play in an area where people actually enjoy the game and have good attitudes about the game

Luckily it's only a few super trolls here. The majority of people here on AZB who lurk are great people.

Checked the available forums this morning. Couldn't find one expressly devoted to new purchases.

Perhaps I should have not posted when I received my JB custom butterfly 4x8. The incredible work Proficient Billiards did refinishing my Schon 6 windows would not have helped several other posters on this forum. The extension Brandon Jacoby installed on my break cue butt might only have helped me not the others who followed my lead.

Come on 9Ballr, did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed? Drink caffeinated coffee instead of decaf? What's next? Barring anyone not from Texas from posting on AZ? Chill dude!

Lyn

Always the voice of reason.....except about jump cues ;-)

DANG! :eek:So much for my Pandolfini and Capablanca - no wonder I'm still not a master! Fav Chess book in my library - Reshevsky's Art of Positional Play.

Anyway - I will probably also get a JB Case in the fairly near future and I will try to restrain myself from posting - especially if I'm near any old bridges...
My problem is that I want to spend less - I don't fly mine around, I just drive - seems overkill to spend $200 vs. $75 (actual prices for cases being considered). Furthermore, if I went with JB, I'd probably end up spending even more for nice leather, vs. being content with cheap. Right now I only have 1x cases, and need a 3x...

We will be here when you're ready.

Allot of use have a corner in the closet with several worn out mass produced production pool cue cases..
Buying a new mass produced production cue case isn't that big of deal......

I ordered a JB case 2 weeks ago and forgot to post about it. Guess I'll just post some pictures when it arrives.

Please don't, some posters here are likely to have a coronary.......

Anyway, for Shinobi and others, here is the latest weekly showcase of cases we have made. I do apologize to the forum that I haven't been very active lately in posting about our activites and new products and our training center and my gambling stories and tournament results....etc....seeing as how "some" of you have obviously missed me I will do my best to fill up the main forum with JB and JB Cases news to satisfy your unrelenting curiosity.

Some flowers for the mentally distressed....

Yeah, because I believe that you don't know what it means, nor how to google it. Brilliant response, that.
Oh I could Google it. I chose not too and really have no idea what it means. Thanks for the extra post.

Astroturfing is the practice of masking the sponsors of a message or organization (e.g., political, advertising, religious or public relations) to make it appear as though it originates from and is supported by grassroots participant(s).

---------------------

Huh learned something new. Not sure why it would be called this, certainly not something I do. But hey the truth is no barrier to a troll.
