be flexibile
I'm pretty sure the discussion was done before it really started.
Come to poppa. Otherwise drop it. I'm getting bored.

Brian, if John wants a shot at his dough he can come here. Mike, Dustin and I flew out to NJ because that's where John said he wanted to play. Now he can come to where I want to play, end of story.
And I am just about done with this baloney.
Lou Figueroa
As soon as he typed the word "non-negotiable" it was DOA.
Lou Figueroa
TATE, while I appreciate your efforts, I have to ask you: were you not one of the guys, back the last match, that said I was taking advantage of an emotionally unstable person? Forgive me if I'm wrong, but if I'm right why the change of heart?
Lou Figueroa
flexibility can be a beautiful thing...
i think the most important point you proved was that you were more than willing to let someone else (your backers) take the lion's share of the value of your labor, while, incidentally, doing much less work than you.... when you obviously had 10-7 the best of it and enough money to take 100% of your own action. Some people might call that not having any gamble.I am not a pro player and I don't need to travel and gamble at a pool game for $20K.
I beat you and that was to prove a point, several actually.

Chris, the idea to play a big money set was not mine or Lou's. It was a high roll bark done by Lenny Marshall on behalf of Michael Lalumiere on onepocket.orgYes, I think you did. I felt you baited John into various arguments and it did not seem he was in great mental shape at the time. We cleared up the sequence of events in a subsequent thread, the match being John's idea and you called him on it.
John seems to have it under control now, so my change of heart. I think you would see a different, more business-like person in this arrangement.
I rarely watch one pocket and don't play, but I enjoyed watching the two of you play and found it to be an interesting match. It actually got me interested in the game.
What does frequency of posting have to do with it?
Brian, I no longer care enough about the BS to be flexible.
The last time I blew what I won taking Gail to NYC for a long weekend, staying at a swank hotel on Times Square, Broadway shows, dinner, jewelry for her. IOW, its not about the money.
If he comes to St. Louis I'll give him a shot at winning his $10K back. Otherwise I do not care anymore.

I had posted that I would play Lou for $100 a game and give him 9/8 and guarantee to post at least $500 so that he could win enough for a nice dinner.
Lenny then says I should give him that weight for $20,000. I initially said no but then decided to try it even and countered with 10 ahead for $10,000.
I was called a nit, a coward, and more....anyone can see the thread and follow the sequence.
Somehow Lou thought he could use that counteroffer to bring it into azb and berate me for "only" wanting to play for $10,000.
Anyway I told him I didn't rescind the offer and to my surprise he actually made a real thread with a real challenge on azb for 10k. I accepted.
Then his group started in with the head games. Which I totally bought into as expected.
Anyway......here we are with me wanting to play for 20k and him wanting to play for 10k after winning 10k and he doesn't see the irony in him calling me a coward.....
If I had 50k to bet that's what I would be trying to bet. As it is he is throwing away the opportunity to beat me out of 30,000 dollars.
The only reason to offer to play for 10 now is pure fear.

20k is my bet. 3 days 8 hours a day prorate unless we both agree to keep going.

Lou;
John and you come from different universes, it seems, though in my opinion you are both good guys.
Strong opinions and an incredible amount of passion for our sport are yours and John's common denominators and these have earned you both respect and admiration as well as a lot of fans and even a few detractors here and there.
You both showed some brass to play the last match in Edison and I don't care if there was some backing on one side; getting in the grease on a live stream with big $$$ and pride on the line is a big damn deal. :yeah:
I've been around this sport for a very long time and never played for anything even remotely close to that amount and I'd guess neither has 98% of all other az'ers.
The idea of a rematch between the two of you has a lot of appeal and aside from the adrenaline and personal challenge aspects, there's about 10 - 20,000 other reasons why this could be well worthwhile.
Why it could mean a whole bunch more fine meals at swanky restaurants out with the Missus or some more Broadway shows.
Hell, you could maybe even get a fancy motorbike like Tate's.

You have my offer and until Friday to accept it or not. If at some time in the future I feel like coming to St. Louis I will at that time make you another offer.OK, John, I think I have a proposition that will make everyone happy.
