I guess I took it the wrong way. I'm happy pool is getting any coverage in the mainstream media, but I thought it was phrased in a way that made it seem like pool wasn't worth watching generally.

Maybe there were people who thought Jeanette was the only reason to watch pool, but the news show host should have known better than to go with such a comment. Not only is it insulting to Jeanette's pool peers who were competing against her, but she'd likely be insulted on their behalf. There were much better ways to summarize her pool accomplishments.

i didn't watch much women's pool way back when, but i saw this match in the youtube feed. her charm and charisma is undeniable. i can understand non pool people saying she was their reason to watch pool

Pool commentary does add a ton of interest to matches. With that said, the old AccuStats matches with Buddy, Grady, Incardona, Nick, and others are amazing - informative and humorous. I also very much enjoy Scott Frost and Jeremy Jones. They are top notch. Also the YouTube USBTC matches have great commentary. I think Jay Helfert did a bunch of those. Man, so much excellent footage out there and in no way is it boring. Try the YouTube USBTC Ignacio vs. Sean McKay - a match determined by one miss or 1990 Pure Gold - Sigel vs. Varner 9-Ball. Boring? No way!

You do have to wonder sometimes if the new crop of commentators ever listened to the old pre Mark Wilson Accu-Stats matches. You'd think they would have grown up on it, but their commentary doesn't really reflect this.

Pool isn't worth watching in general. I honestly can't remember the last time I say down to watch more than 12s of pool. I'll watch snooker at times, but they have professional level commentary.

You mean it isn’t watchable for you.. most of us here watch it all the time. Your not the end all be all lol

yeah by my memory she didn’t dominate. Over all Allison and Karen dominated the tournaments back then. I could be wrong its been quite a few years at this point lol

I’ve been lucky enough to meet her multiple times and you won’t meet a nicer person. Always very engaged with whom ever she’s talking to and knows how to work a crowd. I saw her in Vegas and she looked great and healthy but she was using her cue to help her walk around the table.

I believe that I think that it is my opinion that pool is unwatchable.

Let me tell you how this works. When I write something that is not provable by fact, it is my opinion, no matter how I say it. If you are so insecure that you have to point out that it is my opinion, like you have to protect the game from others who don't understand how discussions work, that is a problem, but it isn't my problem. Discussions work by sharing statements that lead to other views.

Next time try refuting what I say with some kind of example that might change my opinion--because I'm not the only one with that opinion.

At least you finished what most people don't, you flat-out said that my opinion and I don't matter.

Well then learn how to write in my opinion it’s not watchable. The way your wrote it made it sound that it’s unwatchable to everyone because you don’t like it. Your correct you not liking it doesn’t matter to me.. why should it.

Learn to read and use punctuation. Life will be easier for you.
