Jeanette Lee Competes in World 14.1 Championship!

I saw her playing a male pro 14.1 in Nashville once. (don't remember who). She was spotting him. If she didn't run 30 she didn't count em.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Jeanette surprise a few people, I think she would be a longshot to beat a Hohmann or Robles but I certainly wouldn't underestimate her.

Gene Nagy

I would be extremely surprised if Gene wanted to play. I don't think competetive pool has crossed his mind much since he gave up tournament pool many years ago.

He did have a major imapct in getting Jeanette Lee to the top of her game and has helped and continues to help many players from beginners to seasoned pros.

He has told be he has had 2 runs in the low 400s, a bunch of 300s and tons of 100s.

I haven't visited him in a while.

I think I should.

Wish I could have seen him during his prime . . . .

If part of the reason she was invited is because she will pull crowds and media attention, that's just smart event management and good for the sport in the long run.

It's the standard in golf and tennis and other successful sports for event promoters to invest a lot of their efforts and event costs towards getting in players that draw crowds. Anna Kournakova for example received huge amounts to appear in non-major events. Having her there drew crowds, media attention and sponsors to the events.

The more of that, that can be done in pool, the better IMHO.

Take my word for it, she's very soild at straight pool. I've seen her play straight dozens of times over the years and during that time, seen her have some impressive runs. I honestly think it'll be a real treat to have her there and hope that she's recouped enough to handle the necessary practice-time it will require to be ready for this event. Last I saw her, it was a few months after surgery and you can tell it's been tough.

Seriously, she's run a 100 multiple times. Anyone with a resume like hers SHOULD be invited.

And besides her ample talent she has charisma that could light up a coal mine. Jeanette Lee is a class act and a serious threat in any straight pool tournament. Fire it up Jeanette!
