Jeffery Ignacio

You are correct about me confusing you for someone else.
Yeah, I'm pretty new to AZ, just getting used to my surroundings.
quick urban dictionary check says the word's being misused in this instance anyways. So while I'm wrong on multiple counts, at least I'm not the only one. :D

LOL no worries.

The actual word Nit, refers to a small bug (like a flea). It's reference in pool is slang for someone who nitpicks or is nitpicking. The word nitpicking refers to removing nits, but is also defined as finding minute flaws. In other words:

Saying so-and-so is nitpicking, because they said Jeffery Ignacio overran position, is in the correct context.

Saying so-and-so is nitpicking (or the slang word nitty), because they won't gamble, is the incorrect usage of the word.

You will learn, especially on AzB, that the majority of pool players are quite stupid and only the small few on AzB actually have decent grammatical skills, but you will find that they are divided, still, by the ones who want to be cool and the ones who are realists. Tis life, I suppose.

Carry on, mate, and good luck enjoying AzB. Oh, and don't ask about Panjo.

Seriously bro, give it up.

What? I've posted once in this thread before (the post you quoted). You have me confused with DropTheRock...

And you must not visit AzB often, Nit gets thrown out a lot here.

I think everybody is confused. I was calling him a nit not for what he said about ignacio, but the fact that he was nit picking when it came to my choice of shot and the words I used to describe it (a minor form of trolling). Also referring to somebody as a being nit picky vs being a nit because they won't gamble implies multiple definitions. In the pool world a nit is tight wallet SOB who will only play a game if he is stealing. Nit picking is picking out little details that are subject to opinion and exploiting them for an excuse to discredit someone or for grounds of an argument.

All I'm saying is I was just trying to talk about Jeffery Ignacio's effortless stroke and I can't do that if I don't write out a structured thesis lol. I feel like somebody who is trying to disagree with CJ lol! No matter what I post somebody is going to nit pick and say "OH WELL YOU SAID THIS AND THAT AND THEREFORE"

You and I are on the same page. It may have come of differently, but I was never implying that what you posted was wrong. I actually agreed with everything you have posted thus far.

Oh and please for the love of sanity, don't talk about CJ. We don't need another thread turning into imaginary pool balls, elbow stroking, and touching someones insides.

haha I was being sarcastic... I joined a few months after you did. I just prefer to lurk. I'm well aware of the shenanigans on AZ, even spoken to a few pros about it. Thankfully the era of people who drive away potential new contributors is dying out. :deadhorse:

WOOPS! lol

Yea... 2010 was like yesterday, right?!?!

Well it wouldn't be AzB if someone doesn't go right away and create a new thread asking what nit means...

Oh wait I'll just use the search function, right?

It was just a little dry humor guys, relax. I like Ignacio, his stroke, his speed control, that shot, his arm, everything about him, even when he overruns position.

7:40 This might not seem like a big deal but the control and effortlessness of his stroke is the nuts.

What an effortless stroke this guy has. This guy is the real deal and I think we are going to see more of him finishing in the top of a lot of US tournaments. A close friend who made it to the final 16 at the USBTC watched Ignacio and Joven Bustamante practice 8 ball and alternate the break. In two hours Joven didn't get out a few times. Jeffery on the other hand got out every rack for two straight hours. I feel like its pretty safe to say that Biado and Ignacio and are the rising stars out of the Philippines. It would be nice to see De Luna make it to some major US tournaments as well. If you haven't seen his break lately you have to find it on youtube.

He has a smooth stroke and he usually throws his cue forward. But that shot really wasn't a big deal.

What I appreciated about the shot was how much draw he got, it was how much draw with such little effort and in terms of control using the more difficult style. A lot of pros would opt to hit the ball with more force and less spin and power it back which is wayyy easier to control. There aren't to many players with and effortless stroke like that.

nice video thanks.

About you statement, sorry but the shot is very easy... any pro will do it without any effort, even easier. If you want to see some effortless stroke, take a look to Raymund Faraon or Ko-Pin brothers (specially Chung) ;)

He is playing in a 9-ball tournament now. That is what I have watched, FYI.
He is 2-0 so far in the China event.

I was trying to say that I have not watched him play 8-ball, only 9 on YouTube.

Jeff and Johann Chua have been the top young talents coming out of the Philippines for the last couple of years now. They both play even with the top guys. The newest superstar is Anton Galaraga, just turned 18. He may be the best yet! Just wait.

Speaking of nit (non pool related), I called myself a nit (prior to folding a big hand) during a big poker hand at the WSOP this year that made the main WSOP news blog online lol.
