Jennifer '9MM' Baretta Crowned Empress of Pool

Whew! There for a minute I thought she had taken my QUEEN title, lol.

Congrats to Jennifer! To answer CTA, I know that when you're pregnant, it's hard to bend over, but once you're there, it's harder to get back up and makes you stay down on the ball. ;)

Congratulations to Jennifer, but out of curiosity, how do you bend over the table when you are 6 months pregnant?

I know a lot of Guy players who are 6-9 months along and have no problem playing.

Quite a bit of difference between a guy's big gut hanging over the table, and a VERY alive baby kicking like crazy inside! This was what I found particularly interesting...

"The Empress Cup matches were scheduled to air live for 2 hours, but due to enormous ratings , the matches were aired an additional 2 hours making it a 4 hour live coverage straight and pushing Korea's national baseball league game back. Empress Cup was the #1 show in its time slot for 4 hours breaking records for any billiards show aired in Korea ."

It really shows how pool CAN be showcased on t.v., and ratings will follow!
Props to Dragon Promotions...now if we can just do something as well in the U.S.:D

How long until someone comes along an bashes her? :)

Bash? If you think that was a bash, you have mental problems. It's a serious question. How do you lean over a table with a baby kicking inside your stomach like Scott said?

Just another AZBer making a statement over the green felt. What else is new? Well played, Jenn.

My 2 cents:

Congrats Jen, well done!!

I was about 6 months when I took my leave from the game. I felt fine while playing, just got tired faster. Like Linda said, you tend to stay down more. But I'm short in height (like 5 feet) With my belly getting big, it was completely in the way, I needed the bridge to reach a lot of "normal" shots even short table I couldn't reach!! It actually was kinda funny :) But the other girls are much taller where their belly is actually on the table, mine was bumping straight into the side of the table. Lori Jon said that her belly rested on the table so it wasn't a problem........I guess in that sense height does matter in pool!!!!! LOL

That's kind of where my question stemmed from. I was wondering if Jennifer had to use the bridge alot or what. I wasn't saying that she was putting the baby in danger, of course she knows better than that.

Not to mention it was probably a good idea to get yourself, and thereby your baby, out of the smokey environment of a pool hall.

There is no smoking in poolrooms in NYC where Jennifer trains.

Actually I was responding to ls Phoebe's post and her reference to her pregnancy; not Jennifer's. Although for all I know Phoebe was playing in a non-smoking envirnonment when she was pregnant. The point I was making is that most pool rooms would not be a good environment to be in when pregnant. Actually most pool rooms in terms of air quality aren't a good place to be regardless of being pregnant or not... but that's another topic that has certainly been worn out on AZB.
