Jeremy Jones VS Immonen-Harsh W6rds

Perhaps Mika was sharking, but based on what I've read about the event, he didn't make any personal attacks in the game? Correct me if I am wrong.

I am certainly not saying it was ok. Just pointing out the numerous occassions I have witnessed his less than desirable attitude at the table.

as for the gay thing, based on the NPR section here this forum shouldnt care one way or the other, but just throwing it out there ive seen him with a cutie blonde throughout a whole 4 day tournament. Ive met him on more than one occasion and both times he was amiable. I love his intensity on the table, hes a real competitor.

And, don't think Tiger Woods has never stared his pairing partner down or made a timely comment or two at the most inappropriate time. Mental warfare is to be expected. Sigel used to chirp from the chair all the time. Buddy Hall used to whine from the chair as well. As far as I know, no one ever called them a f-g after the set.

This is the first truly sensible statement in the thread. Agree with this 100%, JJ has been around a long time. To say "now were even" when a lucky roll is returned is a common thing in pool and usually a pretty light thing to say. JJ needs to grow up and get a thicker skin if he is all of the sudden going to get all pissed off about something like that. Seems to me he knew he was a huge underdog and hoping for some lucky rolls to save the day and get him through and when the luck proved to be even and Mika mentioned that he lost it at the same time as he knew his tournament was probably done.

Just out of curiosity, how on earth do you figure Jeremy Jones is a "big underdog" to Mika? When Jeremy is playing well he's not a "big underdog" to anyone on the planet. He is a former US Open winner and runner up to Johnny Archer in 99.

This doesn't mean I'm condoning what he said, however there are enough character witnesses here for both he and Mika to assume that he was probably provoked by either something else Mika had said or had done.

And while we're at it, would the first person on here who has never uttered a derogatory comment about someone please step forward! I'd like to meet them! It doesn't make it right, but it does make them human.

And for the record I love watching both of them play and usually root for them both when they're in a tournament. No one gets along with everybody.

kinda shocked there was any reaction at all about "now we're even". That's a pretty mild comment and can be taken as ironic or joking or a bunch of ways. I think JJ must have seen the comment meaning something like "how do you like THEM apples, b?tch? Shoe's on the other foot now isn't it?!" when mika prolly meant it more like "haha, that's the pool gods... what're you gonna do? It's karma."
