I snagged this cue off of ebay to try one of Jerry's cues and am very impressed. As most of you who know me are aware, I love to work with (or harass
) cue makers on designs of my own. So, now I'd like to sell this one and get with Jerry on something he builds for me.
Specs:
58.25" (end of meaty tip to bottom of buttcap)
19.7 oz. (15.85 butt and 3.85 shaft)
12.9 mm shaft that is remarkably clean, but with some bluing
melamine ferrule, unknown tip
Forearm is 4 points with four veneers into lightly figured birdseye maple. The ebay auction said it had ebony points and sleeve, but it looks like a dark rosewood to me. He also said the veneer colors are ebony/green/orange/white (outside in), but I would say the second veneer is yellow and the inside veneer is natural.
Sleeve is the same wood as the points, with two black/orange veneer index rings and a milky white delrin buttcap with Jerry's -R- logo.
Cue has a lightly textured leather wrap with nice seam-work. **EDIT** There are two small scuffs on the wrap that I didn't see until I boxed up the cue for the first buyer. I disclosed them to the buyer and he decided to pass on the cue. I apologize for not including them in the original listing. **
The joint is 5/16-14 piloted stainless steel and has the same stitch rings as the sleeve.
The cue has been played, with bluing on the shaft, one ding (about the size of a match head) on the sleeve that looks to be through the finish, and two minor forearm dings (not through the finish). Overall, though, it is in good shape and plays very well.
Factoring in the condition of the cue, I'm asking $550 shipped and insured to the U.S. Foreign buyers would pay actual shipping to their country. No trades please. Thanks.
