Jim Pierce, bowling alley shaft, workmanship

And next week, they might be playing with something else. Parica switches cues, like I switch underwear. At any rate, point taken. Hit is subjective.....Have you ever tried Earl Stricklands new shaft? I have... pretty weird, but it sure works for him.

I know the argument persists whether it's the "Indian" or the "Arrow"...but I just wanted to point out what just happened in Vegas:

Amar Kang defeated Shane Van Boening while Amar was playing with a Pierce Custom Cue with a bowling alley wood shaft...

and

Jose Parica defeated Rodney Morris while Parica was playing with a Pierce Custom Cue...unfortunately I think Rodney was playing with a Pierce Custom Cue with a bowling alley wood shaft as well! (Either way, a Pierce cue was used to win!)

And last week at the Stonyear Memorial Tournament in California both Amar Kang and Rodney Morris split first and second place...you guessed it, using Pierce Custom Cues...

And next week, they might be playing with something else.
I do not know Rodney Morris or Parica, but I have watched Amar play and improve since he was a teenager. Amar has always been very meticulous about his game, along with the equipment he uses, and it shows in his high caliber of play.

Not too long ago, Amar went through a time where he was looking for a cue that he felt best suited his game. In several months, he purchased, tried, and tested cues from a few different makers, Bobby Hunter included. And when I say "tried and tested", we are talking about hundreds of hours of play in open events full of top professionals.

At a recent tournament in February, Amar mentioned not only how happy he was with his Jim Pierce cue, but also how accommodating Jim was in working with him to build a cue that played exactly the way he wanted it to.

Everyone in the conversation could see Amar's genuine passion and excitement in finding a cue that just "fit" along with a cuemaker (Jim Pierce) willing to go the extra miles to make sure he was happy.

I think it is a safe bet that Amar will be playing with his Pierce cue next week, and the week after, etc, etc, etc...

Great for him...again just because this poster and several others who have emailed me have had a bad situation with pierce doesn't mean everyone does. I'm sure there ALOT more good transactions then bad. I can tell you first hand that his work is normally top notch and those shafts play great....but that doesn't mean that the above poster didn't have a problem. No one is perfect including pierce.

Still waiting for Pierce to make good on our agreement. 13 days and counting ......

For those of you waiting for your Pierce, or looking to get one, best of luck.

On a side note, I have to have another cuemaker replace a ferule which Jim Pierce just installed. Not only was it pitted and gouged coming from Pierce, but it is improperly installed and is loose (you can move it with your fingers).

What fun.....

Salamander! You've already spread your crap on the main forum, got all the responses, pro and con. It's about damn time you shut the hell up! You've slammed Jim Pierce enough. Just like many have stated, whatever the situation, you've slammed, slammed, slammed, someone will get pissed off and tell you to go play with yourself!

It's time to get on with your life, and get OFF the internet.

I see you have 0 itrader, since you have probably never bought or sold a cue in your life, I can safely assume you don't know much about cues, or transactions for that matter.

I'm not involved in the issue about this cue or the cue maker and I am determined to stay out of it.

But I saw this and finally, regrettably, must comment. Apparently the comment was made some time ago and I missed it somehow. I did read all of these posts but it escaped my attention.

I am quite tired of the attitude that some people have over iTrader, frankly your comment leaves something to be desired.

I'll point out one example for you: Bill Stroud currently has an iTrader of 4. Many people of substantial reputation and experience not only don't have iTrader ratings but they aren't even registered on this board.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with Jim. I have a Pierce cue, and it is really nice, with extremely quality craftsmanship. Ive only heard good things about Jims work, and hope this does not tarnish peoples opinion of him and his cues... Good luck..

I'm glad you like your cue. Like I said before, I've had several people tell me of similar experiances to mine, so I think it is safe to say that Jim Pierce does not consistantly put out a good product. Count yourself lucky.

By the way, that $500 that Jim promised me never arrived....no surprise really. He gets a D+ for cuemaking and an F for customer service.

Sorry, you missed the sarcasm. By the way, since you are determined to stay out of it, why did you respond? Frankly, your comment leaves something to be desired. LOL

I responded regrettably, as I said. Further, I will not respond to the matter of the cue, the work, or the cue maker, so I am clearly staying out of it.

If sarcasm was intended I certainly didn't catch it. I will leave my astute observations and comments for posterity nonetheless.

Have a great day.

You to. thanks for the bump!

What a piece of trash for sending a PM like that to you.

I've never heard of a cue maker swear like that to a customer.

God forbid that someone gets pissed off and tells me to play with myself. What would I do? Oh my, the sleepless nights, the endless angst. Golly gee.

By the way, that's a nice collection of Pierce cues in you avatar, LOL:p
