Why did he quit playing in pool tournaments. He was one of my favorite players to watch! I remember the first time I met him, it was at the Reno Sands Tournament 93 or 94. I was watching his match against Todd Marsh. He asks me can you do me a favor? I say sure he hands me a Hundred and says can you get me a cocktail....lol. Loved his game...sure do miss watching him. I got to see him a few years ago in Vegas. He was playing in the Grand Masters...still looked like he could play some.

Yep, I miss those old schoolers too. Had a lot of flare and knowledge. They all played differently too. Not so robotic.

He was in the 9 ball challenge at the bca. I know in the round of 17/24 he played on the table next to me and he cried for an hour straight while Danny Olsen beat him. The crowd around found it quite amusing.

MaTulla! Another character from the golden era of pool in this country. Once upon a time we were awash with great hustlers and money players. They were all out there "on the road" plying their trade. This was the 60's and 70's in the good ole USA!

I haven't seen too much of his play, but i have heard him in the commentary booth and he really is a funny guy. He should have done more commentary, even though i'd admit he isn't the best. But he sure is funny

I have been collecting and writing down a whole bunch of little stories some funny some sad from my time so far spent with Buddy Hall, Nick Varner, Archer Strickland, Schmidt and more. I have a couple in there with Jimmy M. A personality that you can 't just find in any part of the world. He can make a while room smile and pay attention to him without trying. I seen it happen and not it a pool room where youy would expect it. Last time I saw him was in Grand Rapids, Mi. a couple of years ago. I have spoken to him since but its been a while, I should probably say hi. Fun guy to be around if you can keep up with him :)

Mark, I really hope your book project turns out well! I'm certain that with all the "inside scoop", road stories and the goings on behind the scenes, many of us in pooldom would be buying copies!

Please, spare no details!
